I don't get it.

The NY media has an award for the Yankee's best post season player?

Congratulations purple lips.

He's still a despicable phony and cheater with bad taste in women. And he has those ridiculously feminine purple lips ... and man boobs.

That he does. But the only flaw in his game was his "clutch" factor. That's gone now. He's gonna be a monster this upcoming yr. He has absolutely no pressure on him.
...or maybe he'lljust decide to coast through now that he has won a championship.

I thought you said clutch didn't exist. I guess only Yankees players can attain it :dunno:

that typically doesnt happen. It usually is a motivator

That's not really true. I fee like you're just saying that because it's the Yankees and after the Red Sox won in 2004 or 2007 you probably pointed out how usually the teams that win championships in any sport, not just baseball tend to struggle to repeat.

hence why I put it in quotes genius

Can we please not be so childish as to start calling eachother names? It's just a baseball thread, not the end of the world.

Sounds like you were trying to make him no longer lacking a clutch factor some kind of benefit for him next year. I'm confused. You claim clutch doesn't exist and then claim he's better off because he no longer doesn't have it. :dunno:

The benefit is the monkey that is off his back. Clutch factor may or may not exist' date=' but the pressure he was under definitely affected him.[/quote']

So he's much better off now that he no longer lacks an imaginary entity. Got it!

P.S. - Is this at all related to Jeter's intangibles?

Did I say they were repeating? I just said that ARod is prime to have a monster yr
It stands to reason that if a World Championship alleviates pressure allowing players to have better seasons afterward that there should be more back to back championships.

I think what really took the pressure off ARod was Teixeira, even though he didn't do much in the postseason. ARod no longer has to be The Man.

You do not think ARod was pressing at all prior to this previous post-season? You do not think there was pressure on ARod for his performances in the "clutch". Cmon now, that's just stupid

Thing is, Tex disappeared in the post season. ARod was The Man in the postseason

He was The Man, but Teixeira could have broke out at any time. If I'm ARod, that puts me in a good frame of mind when I'm up at the plate.

Wait a second, back up. You just claimed,

How does less pressure in October make him prime for a monster regular season? I think you're mixing yourself up here.

Less pressure on him period. During the season, everyone said that what he does in the regular season doesnt matter since his problems are in the postseason. It used to be that any clutch situation was a problem for him. Now, there are no kinks in the armor. He is finally free.

It'll put him in a good frame up mind all the way until Spring Training when he starts facing pitchers again. A hitter's frame of mind is based on what they've done lately, not what they did last year. They aren't going to feel like "the Man" if they're hitting .200 half way through April, regardless of what they did in the playoffs.

Sounds like there already wasn't any pressure on him in the regular season. There goes your argument that he's prime for a monster year because of all the pressure that was on him last year.

Now you've really got yourself mixed up.

Obviously, every season is different. But the only pressure that ARod will have will be generated from his 2010 season. He wont be carrying the pressure of 2004, 2005, etc. I am predicting a monster season from ARod. I am talking MVP caliber season
