USA ties it in the 40th minute on what will potentially be the softest goal ever given up/scored in the World Cup. It's tied 1-1 at the half. England has looked better throughout, but the US have had their chances and even though the goal shouldn't have been scored, it's tied at the half. Both teams have a yellow card and only England has used a substitution.

I wouldn't say England has looked better throughout. I'd say it's been played about even, honestly.

I'd disagree, as USA is not only lucky to be tied 1-1 (instead of 1-0), but USA is even luckier not to be down 2-0. England has controlled a lot of the flow and possession of the game, and the US hasn't looked close or threatening in their scoring chances. Hell, their goal should have been scored an E1 rather than a "goal", if there were official scoring in football.

And it's a draw. Wow, didn't see that coming. In any event, both teams are likely to advance to the next round seeing as they are against Algeria and Slovenia, but anything can happen.

I could really get into football, and every time I think this while watching a match, some f***stick gets softly bumped into and starts writhing on the ground like their leg just got amputated.

Can't they do something about this?

Did anyone see the hilarious NY Post cover today? Usually I think that paper's a pile of s***, but they had me laughing when I saw it:

I'm not a huge soccer fan, but I do enjoy watching the World Cup. These Vuvuzela's are driving me up a f***ing wall. Trying to enjoy a game in which I don't have much of a rooting interesting is really hard to do with the constant sound of buzzing bees.

There are complaints now that they're ruining the atmosphere because they're drowning out the usually intense and loud chants and fans are blowing them instead of cheering.

Yeah, just as Ital said (I believe) those horns are really a distraction. And they do sound like bees!!!

It's still better than listening to Buck and McCarver.

But I'd rather listen to Tim McCarver getting attacked by bees, though.

I don't get why the FIFA commissioner is so reluctant to ban the horns. He's making it out like this is some cultural thing that has been around for decades but really these horns only started to gain popularity after 2001.

Ronaldo's next international sporting competition appearance will be the 2012 Summer Olympics, where he will compete in the diving events.

Flopping really does ruin the sport. It makes it so the referees are reluctant to call real penalties, and it makes the players seem like prima donnas.

You are just saying that because N. Korea is the Cleveland of the World Cup. It's the place where nobody wants to live or visit, and they have a poor team.
