There's a nontrivial difference between having an $80M financial advantage over a self-professed small market team like the Rockies, and having that same $80M advantage over the second largest payroll in the league.

if you can't figure that out yourself, I pity you.

Every team you played in the playoffs this year had 60% of your payroll or smaller. Indeed seeing as you have more than $70M over any other team this year that was almost the guaranteed outcome. And it certainly was not true of the Red Sox in 2007.

No one cares. Really. Payroll is a pointless arguement brought up by angry 15 year olds, pretty much the same age group of douchebags that make troll threads and have signatures with bold letters proclaiming every year of a yankee title like the world gives a f***.

About the pointless argument, very much true. The 2007 Boston Red Sox were the best team in MLB, 'nuff said. They had a ABYSMAL difference in payroll against the Rockies, but that is no an argument for me to say "they bought their 2007 championship". So I expect the same from the other rich team fans, like Boston or Mets.

You must really take issue with a lot of the posters on this board in that case.

I'm confused. What was an almost guaranteed outcome?

Don't waist your breath Dojji.
