I went to bed before the game ended, it was like almost 4 am here. Not surprised by the outcome.

Listen flat out, congratulations on your WS victory Yankees fans, enjoy it. That's right, no back handed comments, no tongue and cheek, just a genuine congratulations.

I hate the fact the Yankees won, but I honestly don't feel the hate or bitterness like I used to. I guess winning a couple ourselves cures a lot.

Finally we can get going on this stupid 10 day count down until we get some off season action

congrats to the New York $$$$$$$$ on "winning" the World Series. I guess the price of winning a championship is 3 hired guns and $450 million. Its kinda pathetic when a team with the highest payroll every single year by far has only one championship in almost a decade.

Congratulations Yankee fans.

I now hate the Yankees more than i ever have, and i didn't think that was possible.

Congratulations is a term meant for someone that accomplished something. The Yankees accomplished something last night, their fans didn't. That being said, I'm happy for certain Yankee fans here that experienced the joy of their team winning last night.

Id rather gouge my anus out with a scallop fork than see what i saw last night but being a man who tells the truth I have to say that the 2009 Yankees are worthy to be called world champs and congratulations to those of you who stayed with them after their 9 year drought.

They are Americas best team and they deserved to win, they were tested and they endeavored to persevere....

Time to put away the bats till March and for you guys to haggle over who's going where next year.

Theres nothing more miserable to me than listening to hotstove ********.

Whoever they want they get, the rest of us try and get by on has beens, reclamation projects and over rated national league stars who come to the AL and underachieve.

Is Jason Schmidt healthy yet?

Although from a financial standpoint, every other team is a clear financial disadvantage, the Sox along with several other teams have won in this economic climate. It can be done. But let's not act like Brian Cashman is such a great GM.

Are you crazy?

jacksonianmarch says Brian Cashman is the greatest GM ever, and jacksonianmarch is never wrong.

I can't believe some of the bitterness I'm still seeing.

Get over it guys....

Don't lump all of us in with the knuckle dragging mouth breathers. A lot of us have offered genuine congratulations.

BTW has anyone heard from a700? I'm afraid he might have had a stroke or heart attack after watching the festivities last night.

Thank you all for the nice congratulations.

All is well in Yankee land. I'll be hitting up the parade tomorrow.

I started this thread to offer genuine congratulations. I find that at times when embarassment or jealousy might reign, it is just best to admit that the other team was better and move on...

The Red Sox have a very, very nice nucleus that can rival the Yankees in a number of areas. I think they're as loaded as the Phillies or Angels are, and neither of those teams was light-years behind the Yankees.

I agree with this sentiment. Well said.

Here's a trivia question for you:

Which team won the World Series, prior to 2009, with the largest payroll of any World Series winner?

Its not pathetic, its just proof that because you spend the most, it won't guaruntee anything more then a playoff appearance, you could have all the talent in the world but unless the team has chemstry and plays like a good team should they won't get very far.
