Meaningless comparison, but, for a variety of different reasons, this game reminds me of Game 6 of the 1986 NLCS. Hopefully the ending is similar, although I have my doubts.

I just wonder who on the Angels will take on Dickie Thon's role and try to kill an umpire...

burnett through 5 has 69 pitches.

lackey through 5 has 70 pitches.<_>

that is surprising that lackey has more because he has faced less batters.

Angel hitters have swung at more 1st pitches and made hits, runs, or outs.

i think most players want to kill the umps during these playoffs.

true but they need to stop swinging at first pitches. need to work the bullpen to help themselves out for the next games.

No lol' date=' I just know my baseball history, especially postseason history.[/quote']

Yeah i know my postseason history too, but you recall it very vividly.

You're an old-timer until evidence is presented to the contrary.

My quest for a picture of you and a picture of ORS will be a success.

I swear this on my name!

I'm having horrible nightmares of 2004 all over again right now. This is sad...

It's on my mind as well.

Fortunately Pettitte and Sabathia > Lieber and Brown.

To be honest with you. Ever since the first' date=' Burnett has been money. but nobody was beating Lackey tonight[/quote']

I've been impressed by Burnett. I really thought this would end up in a blowout, but Burnett has settled in. They needed to get to Lackey early, and they didn't.

Like I said earlier, hopefully, if they make the World Series, Posada will catch Burnett.

Dude on the rocks dude on the rocks!

that is funny. i like how he jumped in the deeper water then did a dead mans float. i wanted security to tackle in the water though and fall flat on their asses.

Swisher is just overmatched right now. Thing is' date=' when he breaks out, he'll hit 4 homers in 5 games or so, so benching him is a problem.[/quote']

I just don't think, in the playoffs, you can wait for that (especially when the offense, minus one game, is struggling). That was one of the things I liked about Torre. He was willing to make those changes in the postseason.
