I think they'd be more likely to go after someone with infield capability myself. I'd say Dan Uggla would be an interesting compromise between "not so expensive you'd never get him" and "able to find a place to play him." He's got experience at 2B, 1B and LF as well as DH, and while all those positions have solid veterans playing them, having that flexibility at least opens options up for Tito to manage the lineup.

Sounds like the only position that Bill Hall wont play this season is catcher. Not only the outfield, but the Sox would like him to be able to play across the diamond
