Bloop and blast. Bloop and blast. Bloop and blast. Hear that phrase a million times in the playoffs, wouldn't mind seeing it right about now.

Lol Yankees.

I don't get this. I know it wasn't really you, but it was foolish of some of you guys to talk like this series was already over. The Twins, although not as good as the Yankees, are a good ball club. Anything can happen in a short series, especially in the first round.

They still hit twice' date=' maybe only once, against Twins pitching. It's far from over.[/quote']

It's not over, but the odds are clearly with the Twins. That's why I said "likely".

From the sounds of it, pitches are called by Pena off the bench. i just dont see how you go to the breaking ball in the strike zone vs a slap hitter like Punto. Especially when he was incredibly late on the fastball in the prior pitches. Last night, Hughes blew away Cabrera with something like 7 consecutive FBs. Why? Cause he couldnt catch up to them. Same type of situation and instead we f***ing give in. s***, that pisses me off. Its baseball 101. The only thing that could be excuseable is if he was trying to bounce the curve. Then again, bouncing a curve with a runner on 3rd is dumb

That's why i said Lol Yankees.

I don't know if it's just me, and maybe i'm crazy, but they've looked a bit complacent throughout the game.

Again, maybe it's just me.

I don't get those things either. They looked like a team that got shut down by a pitcher who threw a good game.

Posada trying to hit a 2 run homer to lead off the inning....

strike 3 was about 6 inches off the plate. And some will say he's been calling it all game. Well, he's been calling it about 50% of the time today

Blackburn pumped a lot of meatballs in a lot of wheelhouses tonight, specially to A-Rod.

Again, maybe i'm just imagining things.

If that's the case then it's even worse. Posada has shown numerous times that he doesn't have the highest baseball IQ, so at least it's to be expected from him. But for the coaching staff to make that decision even further speaks to my concerns about this team.

And that was an incredible play.

The two pitches in the AB you're talking about (his second) were in the upper regions of the strike zone. That is not A-Rod's hot zone.

Up and in right through the strike zone with little movement?

Brendan Harris???? Unbelievable! That guy sucks! lol!!

And people say the Garza/Bartlett trade for Young/Harris was one sided. Fools, I tell you.

Are you asking yourself questions?

The bats did not come to play tonight
Sure they did. they just got dominated by superior pitching. They'll probably bash Nathan who is the best pitcher they will see tonight. Shitenhire will find a way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. I am confident in that.

Which is why the postseason is such a crapshoot, and I couldn't be as optimistic as the other Yankee fans on this board. It only takes a couple bad games from the offense or one poor game from a pitcher (WHICH HAPPENS ALL THE TIME) and you're gone. In basketball, hockey, and even football the best team tends to win over a smaller sample size. But not in baseball. I still think the Yankees will win the series, but I can honestly tell you that I would not be surprised if they lost.

I also realize that I'm going to get killed for this, because people are going to say that I'm downplaying or excusing the Yankees' loss tonight (or if they were to lose the series). But I've been consistent all along.
