It's sad. I'm hoping the Red Sox come back because it's the Angels that scare me' date=' not the Red Panties.[/quote']You should know better than to tempt fate. I was down about the Sox chance, but now you have given me hope. You will regret this comment when the Red Sox bend over your team with its half a billion dollars of acquisitions and stick it up their ass.

I guess we just have to be used to the fact that GOM will post most messages from this point on. At least Jacko sticks to the team - good or bad.

It could be. I just couldn't resist calling them Red Panties.

I love how Red Sox fans think that one post-season changes nearly a decade of futility. Keep dreaming.

You beat us in two playoff series and we beat you in one. The series that we won achieved something that had never been done before or since, so I don't know what decade you are talking about.

While not everyone is a model of consistency' date=' so therefore, to some degree, everyone goes on good and bad streaks. I'm suggesting this collection of players is streaky relative to the normal ebb and flow. This doesn't make them incapable of winning a championship, but it does make the accomplishment less likely when they perform to the ebb in the playoffs. Particularly when the ebb seems to be aggravated by being on the road.[/quote']

Absolutely. The sox are streaky, their streaks seem to be linked to playing at home and on the road, they dont hit. When you are a wild card, you need to win on the road.

I'm not super hopeful, but I'm also not ready to say that this team is so pathetic that they can't win ONE game of the ALDS. They're too good to be swept. They might still get swept, but they feel too good to lose 3-0.

If they don't lose 3-0 then it is safe to assume they will be playing a game 4. If they play a game 4 then the pressure will be on the Angels. Everyone will be saying "they don't want to return this series to Anaheim" and it will be true.

I have no reason to believe that the Red Sox can't beat the Angels in any given game. So far they've lost the first two, but they were very closely contested and in Anaheim.

The Sox came back from 2-0 against the A's in 2003. They came back from 3-0 against the Yankees. They came back from 3-1 against the Guardians in 2007. They came back from 3-1 against the Rays in 2008 (and lost in game 7).

You will have plenty of chances to beat a dead horse when the Sox have finally been eliminated, but they haven't yet.
