tim mcarver should jump off a bridge and die.

mccarver is the worst. He's probably the most unexciting commentator out there. He talks so god damn slow.

For real. I don't think there's anything worse than having to listen to the playoffs on Fox with McCarver and Buck.

The only way the Sox pitching can beat the Yankees (or any pitching can beat them, IMO) is to let them hit it to where fielders are waiting. Hopes of overpowering them or nibbling need to go out the window. For that reason, I think that newly revamped Buchholz and Matsuzaka could give the Sox a fighting chance.

What the f*** is Lowell swinging at? Same thing they were doing yesterday.

It's ABs like that that make me think this team isn't as good as many think they are. I still think that getting to the post-season is a victory in itself and that this FO has a lot of work to do in the offseason.

They need to get a player who brings some swagger. Currently they have a lot of the "blue collar" guys, and some flashy guys, but they don't have anyone who strikes fear into the hearts of opponents (offensively at least).

Agreed. I really think a majority of our problems have been rotational problems rather than hitting issues. Of course we've had our share of bad hitting outings, but the back end of our rotation has been our biggest problem the entire season. If they can get Tek out of this lineup next year and pick up a good free agent hurler, I think they'll be just fine.

Meh, I'm not sure. I think their rotation has been fine. Every team goes through a stretch where they question the bottom of their rotation. Some teams hide it better with good offense.

This team is missing a power-hitting true #4 hitter.... someone like A-Rod or Teixeira. This FO has wanted that piece for a long time and I think they still do. The ability to move Youk down in the order--or up to 3rd--would really stretch the lineup out and make them more difficult to beat up and down the order.

They need to either get rid of Lowell or get a well-above-average CF or SS to boost this team.

That was an absurdly quick inning. I watched two plays of the Oregon vs. Cal football game, switched back just in time to see Anderson relish his opportunity to add to the team's offense by swinging weakly at the first pitch.

Why is this guy playing? Oh yeah, these games don't actually matter.

what the hell does "geeked up" mean.

You make a good point. I wouldn't mind seeing the Sox get Adrian Gonzalez to play 1st, move Youk to 3rd and keep Victor behind the dish. I do wonder though if Victor will see a decrease in production if he's a daily catcher as opposed to a more even split between that and 1st.

imagine if the red sox could possibly get Longoria. that would be a lineup. but that prolly never happen.

Yeah no chance will they get Longo. The Rays got him for crazy cheap and at a young age, so there's no way they'd trade him. It would be nice to have him though..

He's been the everyday catcher in the past. I'm not sure he would need to be the every day catcher. He can take days off when they play s***** teams and their offense should be fine.

I think this offseason will be the year that this FO just needs to eat some money and either trade or double-pay for someone like Mike Lowell/Big Papi to not be as productive members of the team. Tough decisions ahead.
