At 8:18, the grounds crew raced out on to the field. They're scurrying around now, about to take off the tarp. We should have baseball before 9 p.m.

Greetimgs from Falmouth, Cape Cod (~75 miles south of Fenway). It's warm, but has been drizzling since ~1:00PM.

 

As for the Tek debate, clearly Lowell in the line-up would be closest to putting the Sox best foot forward. However, The Beckett/Varitek dynamic may just be something we, as fans, don't fully understand. So I'm cool with Tek catching Beckett.

 

I don't see this game being started anytime soon. I hope I am wrong.

The game will start at roughly 9:05 p.m. Josh Beckett vs. Wade Davis. But, as the tarp is being taken off the field, it just started to rain again, and quite hard. Hopefully it's going to pass quickly. We'll keep you updated as best we can.

 

Beckett is receiving loud cheers as he jogs in the outfield.

I do not hate him - I appreciate what he has done for us in the past. He simply does not have a place in this team otherthan back-up catcher ( generally back-up catchers have better defense with similar offense). It is not about him - I hate paying anyone for past performances.
