It's more important that Beckett have the catcher he wants behind the plate. I'm sure Lowell will be available to pinch hit.

I really don't believe that is the reason Tek is playing.. I think Francona feels like he needs to play Tek because he has that "C" on his jersey and nothing else. If he doesn't play our best lineup here on out, we could be sitting on the outside looking in.

It IS the reason Tek is catching. Not sure where you are getting your ideas. But if you've been following the team since they got Martinez, you would know that Beckett prefers Tek.

 

If we lose this game b/c Tek is in instead of Lowell that means the rest of the team isn't doing their jobs with the bat.

It IS the reason Tek is catching. Not sure where you are getting your ideas. But if you've been following the team since they got Martinez, you would know that Beckett prefers Tek.

 

If we lose this game b/c Tek is in instead of Lowell that means the rest of the team isn't doing their jobs with the bat.

 

Haven't missed a game in probably 5 years and with that said, Tek can't hit, can't throw and can't run. The only this he is good at is maybe calling a game. V-Mart can call a game just fine and as I’m sure you know can do everything else Tek can't. The Rays will run all over Tek that is one of the key reason they have killed us in the past. And as I have said already, we don't have time to be losing games.

The bottom line is V-Mart is 100 times better then Tek in every aspect of the game.

 

Tek went 2-3 yes, but what was he before that??? It was something like 2-20 or something ridiculous like that.

 

And yes most of us want Tek to sit because the Sox are better without him now. I know it's hard to say, but it is time for them to let him go. The Sox are better team when V-Mart at C, Lowell at 3B and Tek on the bench.
