Ill probably try and go see some friends for the Egg Bowl next year, if I do I'll hit you up, I may be getting pretty toasted though.

EDIT: we always called it Bulldog Bash, don't know why maybe it's just a coast thing.

im not a very big fan of Ole Piss

you're credibility just went through the roof in my eyes.

unfortunately, i haven't made it any rival stadiums yet (no I don't consider Toolame a rival, LSU easily outnumbered them in the dome).

been to a few small stadiums in Louisiana (plus LSU and the Superdome obviously).

not sure what the 2010 football season will hold for me travelwise, but I'm hoping to hit a few ballparks this coming baseball season.

LSU (i should be shot for not getting to see a game at the new Alex Box yet)

Nicholls (usually make 1 or 2 a year since it is only 30 minutes from here)

Toolame

USL

Southern Miss

who knows, maybe even a few others if I get lucky.

I went and saw the first USM vs. LSU game last year, and loved it, even if you dont like USM they are very hospitable fans outside the stadium and very passionate for such a small team, they do however, become abrasive come game time though, atleast the students do.

Me personally I want to go to the CWS even if my team (Texas) doesn't make it (which they should) it's just a great experience, my best friend went last year to see USM and loved it, said it was awesome.

saw USM a couple years ago for a regular season game at the old Box.

pretty good following for a small school. good fans. i can't really complain about them.

hopefully I can make a trip out to Auburn one day so I can vandalize some property.

their fanbase is by far the worst i've ever encountered.

Some of my friends and I have been thinking about doing that this summer. Last year at Rosenblatt.

if someone can step into Coleman's (pretty big shoes to fill) role this year, i like our chances to do it again.

Lineup should be solid again (probably not as potent as early last season though), and i think our defense will be even better.

we're gonna have a FAST outfield (until Chad Jones leaves for spring football).

Ya'll were fast last year too and destroyed our pitching staff that was really, really good, although we had our pitching way over worked by garrido, Austin Wood pitched like 14 innings of no hit ball in that super regional game against BC.

That game' date=' Texas/BC, was frigging unbelievable. I couldn't believe we were actually pushing TEXAS that far.[/quote']

the pitching in that game by both teams was unbelivable.

That Texas pitching staff was sick. 2.97 ERA, 1.14 WHIP, 7.5 H/9, 0.7 HR/9, 2.8 BB/9, 8.2 K/9. That has to be one of the most dominant collegiate pitching staffs ever assembled.

Yeah too bad we couldn't get a slightly more capable offense and we would have been unstoppable, Brandon Belt was the best man in the lineup we had was Cameron Rupp with .292/.387/.505, 11 HRs, and Brandon Belt with .323/.425/.523, 8HRs, and 15SBs. Not way too shabby but neither one of them was a slugger and we could have used atleast one slugger.

1st, can we get a College Baseball thread going? The season is right around the corner.

2nd i thought y'all had more pop than that in the lineup. We had 4 guys with 11 or more homers (Shimpf led team with 22), plus a guy with 9 and one with 7. Micah Gibbs is our only starter who batted under .300 (he hit .294).

we had alot of guys with decent speed OBP and Defense but no real sluggers, Auggie was trying to play moneyball but we were too inconsistent

well i wouldn't hang my head too much. you guys came pretty damn close to sweeping us in the championship round.

we pretty much stole game 1 from you guys, and we never really threatened in game 2.

Auggie is a damn good college coach. I can only hope Mainieri has us contending as consistently as what Auggie has you guys.

I think he will he's done excellent so far in just about every aspect of the game, his biggest problem will be adding talent to the club every year as the stars leave for the draft but everyone has that problem.

that was Smoke Laval's biggest weakness (other than that whole sucking at life like he did).

Smoke only went after top tier guys in recruiting and basically blew off quality college level guys.

Problem is that most of our recruits would never step foot on campus, they'd all get drafted and sign. Then the next tier of guys weren't interested because Smoke ignored them.

Tulane prospered and we sunk, because we had nothing but 3rd level players.

Mainieri seems to understand this. He lets those top notch guys know we're interested, but he focuses on those good enough to get drafted, but not quite high enough to sign. Get those guys on campus for 3 years and they usually develop into studs (Jared Mitchell comes to mind).

Old friend Mark Sweeney put his time in at LSU back in the early early 90s.

I think he hit .600 for us in the American Legion playoffs when he finally did leave Louisiana and if Im not mistaken he may still have a pro contract pinch hitting in the NL.

its a shame, as a Texas fan I didn't go into this game with a whole lot of hope but all I really wanted was for Colt to go out and be able to play the game of his life and give Texas a chance, but now Colt McCoy isn't even getting to play in the most important game of his career, and to all the SEC fans who liked to say that Colt McCoy is a pussy, Ill have you know that McCoy got absolutely destroyed his Freshman and Sophmore years with extremely weak O-lines, McCoy has been hit and hit hard, that was just some bad luck on a hit straight to Colts shoulder, I really feel bad for Colt and Shipley, they deserve to have that last game, but such is life, and these things happen.
Posted
It sucks that McCoy got hurt, not only for him and his team, but for the game itself. This looks like its going to be ugly as Alabama is dominating.

this hurts to watch...but (and I know it sounds retarded) but their is still half a game to play and after 19 years in this world, I believe in miracles.

EDIT:apparently Im so retarded I forgot my own age.
