Hey Destroyah and Nutriaitch, I got offered a free ticket to the Ole Miss and Tennessee game tomorrow so I'll be crossing another stadium off my list. I've been to Oxford several times, just never been to a football game. I'll be the 1 guy in the stadium wearing a Mississippi State shirt. Should be interested given we're going to be doing some tailgating and what not. Go Vols!

 

Also, we're beating Alabama tomorrow night. You heard me.

yeah, cool that you got to go, not so cool that Ole Miss took the win, Oxford is a fun town though, you should go to Woodstock in Oxford, it makes one hell of a weekend.

They supposed to be protesting Ole Miss banning the band from playing "From Dixie with Love".

well I dont at all support the KKK but I think they should still play "From Dixie With Love", and I think Col. Reb should be allowed in the stadium at the games, and I think they should allow the students to fly Ole Dixie at the games, its part of the history and it only represents racism in the eyes of the ignorant.

agree with both of you.

 

The problem comes from the student section. When the band plays the song, the students chant "The South will Rise Again"

Administration tried to get them to change the chant to "to hell with LSU" (funny sh!t that they're thinking of us even when they ain't playing us).

And of course with college students being college students, they not only refused, but started chanting it even louder.

 

So the President has pulled the plug on playing the song completely.

Myself. But having the Klan on campus is not good publicity no matter what the reason.

 

I can't wait to hear what any recruits making an official visit have to say after the game.

 

This is the biggest game on their schedule every year, so I'm sure they'll have quite a few potential recruits on campus.

yeah The Mississippi White Knights are the last people they need around their campus, and not only does it hurt Ole Miss, It only furthers many of the inaccurate and unfortunate stereotypes given to those living in the south.

Only downside will be getting up at 6 a.m. and driving to Little Rock. I definitely don't expect to win, but if we were to pull off the upset my head very well might explode.

But I'm watching Boise State demolish Utah State.

They do not.

 

They've played Oregon for several years now and Oregon State in the past, but they rarely have much competition in the WAC, which is among the worst conferences in the nation.

I go to at least 3, and usually 5 games a year since '86.

been there for some of the biggest games of my lifetime.

Never got to sit in Student section though.

 

I may be biased as hell, but you've got to experience a BIG game in Tiger Stadium on a Saturday NIGHT.

Yeah we show up for day games, but at night, Tiger Stadium officially morphs into Death Valley.

Amen, it's about time one of these games went our way. We lost to WV on the road by 4, Pitt on the road by 3, Cincinnati on the road by 2, and UNC at home by 2. It's about time one of these close games turned into a win. We're much better than our record.
