I have been a sox fan a long time but like most women' date=' we watch the games because we love the game and the team. I've never been really focused on trades, farm teams, other teams players. Its why I joined this site. Ive been invited to join a fantasy league next season and I wanted to hear and read about what fans who ARE into the things I never paid attention to, talk about them... so I wouldnt be stupid during the draft next year[/quote']

That's cool. Sounds like a good plan.

There are always exceptions.

Thanks for proving my point. Despite his low number of RBI's, JD Drew is still a good offensive player. Joe Carter got lucky because his teammates got on base for him, and he had the opportunity to drive in runs batting in the middle of that order.

Live and learn.

I've lived, and the one thing i've learned during my stay on this, God's green earth, is that RBI's are a useless stat.

That is all.

Had a long physically tiring day, just turned the game on a bit ago. And hey, look at that, we're winning again. Me likey.

Lester looks like he's having a grand day, too. More awesome sauce for the vittles.

anyone know what Lesters pitch count is ? Any chance Tito lets him pitch the 9th for a CG ?

He's at 105. Anything over 100 pitches usually means a guy is done, especially if he's through 7. But there's a chance we could see him if Tito decides to let him throw 120.

Carter was a good player. Not as good as his RBIs made him seem, but still twice the ballplayer Drew is.

Lester's all growed up. I'd send him out there for the complete game.

The only stat of any value pertaining to RBI is found here: Link. Seriously, 100 years ago they counted hits to ID good players, then some revolutionary guy said, "Well yeah, but how many chances did they get?", and batting average was born. This is no different.

BTW' date=' if you hate "Nancy" Drew so much, why do you have an avatar of Nomar?[/quote']

Why not?

He might let Lester go 120, but there really isn't a need to do so and he might not decide to risk his #2 starter's arm on a meaningless ninth.

Is anyone warming?.

Lol why do you dislike DelCarmen so much?

He's a pretty good reliever.
