Did anyone notice that Buchholz after a false start and breaking back towards second then losing his footing coming around third base took the time to adjust his helmet on the way home. lol!!! This is why I hate inexperience in the game. Viola picked up on it the minute they put him into the game to PR. He said that you are putting a very young kid who doesn't run the bases out there in a very big situation. He said that it had the potential for danger.

Anytime you have a pitcher running the bases it is a danger no matter what the situation is. He could break a finger, injured his hand in some way with someone who is not use to running the bases. I would have gone with Kotchman who isn't the best runners in the world but is use to running the bases unlike Buchholz.

Remember Chien Ming Wang last year?

If Buck is going to run the bases he needs some training.

Brad Penny should give him a rundown, or Josh Beckett. At least those two have done it before being NL pitchers.

Wang could have gotten the same injury planting his foot wrong on the mound IMHO.

Everybody's an expert.

Except Francona.

and yet he still struck out Michael Young.

He's got the command to get by when he doesn't have his best heater if he uses his secondary pitches.

I'm not saying he cant get the job done , I'm just wondering what happened to his fastball

the last 2 years he was at 98-99 and this year he's been around 92-95 all year

I'm concerned that maybe he's not 100%

Paps got three swinging strikes on that slider. Maybe he should throw it more.

He's been working that slider in a bit here and there ever since he abandoned the split last year. I think he's been trying to develop it, and now he seems to be gaining confidence in it. He's always had it as a fallback pitch however.

Pap did not sit at 98-99. EVER

The most he's ever thrown consistently is 97 or so. And that's more of a "tops out at" than a "sits at." He can sit as low as 92 and still be quite effective.

Nice turnaround. I will be glad to see AGon instead of Woodward who is as useful as a piece of wood. Please Theo pick up an OFer.

what OFers are available on the Waiver wire?
