If you can get him cheap, it would almost be criminal not to. Unlike Guzman, Hardy isn't bound to an albatross contract. if he could get his power stroke back he'd represent a solution to our longstanding problem.

So the Brewers chose not to put Hardy on waivers, and now they're sending him down to AAA? That's no way to build his trade value. Putting him on waivers and handing him or trading him to whoever claimed him could have freed up $5+MM he'll receive through arbitration.

Because Hardy's contract is not expensive, the Brewers would probably want some good prospects in return. If we get him, we'll be getting a guy in the midst of a horrendous slump. Guzman on the other hand is playing well, and he'd only cost money not prospects.

I've been wanting JJ to be brought in for awhile as most of you know. He's had a down year. But Fenway and Boston could be just what the Doctor ordered.

 

Even if his bat doesn't come back all the way, he can field a pretty good SS. And roght now that would be big.

Hardy is a personal favourite of mine and a new home could revitalise him and then you have a naughty player on your hands.
