How am I irrational?

Look at your late-game to post-game tantrums if the Sox aren't on top, as well as your obsession with the idea that deep down Tex really wanted to be in Boston but the devil turned him to the evil side.

Your recent 'how many games back' thread also supports this.

This team has looked like garbage since July 1 against every team not named the Royals or the Orioles.

At least the trade you and everyone else demanded is paying off, right?

Dude, I didn't bring up the Tex thing tonight. I haven't said anything about it since it was asked of us to drop it.

This team looks just, bad against good teams. Best case scenario, we split in New York and are still 2.5 games out with a tough schedule to close.

My thread asked a legitimate question. If I was negative as you think I am, I wouldn't have even put up the "1.5 games up" option.

Your obsession with the idea. Whether you brought it up has nothing to do with it.

O noez, wildcard. Should I really be worried about ending up the wildcard when its been proven time and time again that the playoffs are a crapshoot we have two ace-caliber pitchers topping our rotation?

Your thread was reactionary and the result of aimless frustration.

What?

You and everyone else on this site begged for a shake-up at the trade deadline, in the hopes that it would be the spark that the team needed. Well, the team isn't doing any better, despite Victor performing pretty well.

Consider it dropped.

What makes you so certain we're making the playoffs? Rays have played better baseball since July 1.

So, what you're telling me, is this team just isn't very good and no trade deadline move could have made up for that?

I can agree with that line of thinking.

And we have two months left to go. There's a lot yet to be decided.

No, this team, when all parts are functioning correctly, was and is plenty good enough. To expect one player to solve all your problems, especially a position player, is pretty silly.

14-14 since July 1, with games against Seattle, Oakland, Kansas City, Toronto, Texas, Baltimore, and Tampa.

They should have had at least 18 wins during that stretch. This was the soft underbelly of their schedule and failed to take advantage.

Hernandez will beat the Rays tomorrow, and Smoltz will throw a complete game.

All will be well.

Idea A) Possible.

Idea B ) Lol inducing.

He never said anything about Smoltz not giving up double digit runs. Plus since it's on the road he only needs to go 8 innings for a CG.

If Smoltz throws 6 it'll be a miracle.

I dont care if he throws 5 scoreless- if Tito brings him out for the 6th I will go nuts.

Does anyone have his 6th inning numbers accessible? I couldnt get them on ESPN's splits section...

He's a good athlete. He may be needed to play the OF. I heard that Buchholz has some wheels. Maybe he could help in the OF.
