The Yankees probably make a harder push for Manny (to fill the lineup part of the equation), and find someone else on the outside to play first (to address the actual position).

If anyone didn't go into this offseason FULLY aware that the Yankees would do anything within their power to put pinstripes on Teixeira, they weren't paying attention.

 

You can look back at our posts and note that most here did not think they were going to come in with the huge offer. There weren't long posts saying "I don't understand why the Yankees aren't in on this"... there were a few people who said "I think the Yankees are still flying under the radar" but few were counting them as the certain destination. Look back for yourself Dojji.

agreed Swisher is a natural first baseman and they would have gotten many
