My God, a real live Guardians fan from Kentucky?

Do you really have to keep your lawn cut like a golf green to make sure the copperheads dont waltz all over your yard? I had a cousin that lived in Paducah(sp) that told me that once.

Hi, I am Sean and a long time admirer of the Cleveland sports scene.

I wont bore you with memories of David Justice or Edgar Renteria or Kevin Mack or Bernie ""I got such a deal for you"" Kosar but I wanted to let you know that I do admire you guys very much and hope some day that y'all can be blessed as we were in the past few years.

What happened to the Tribe?

Cleveland is 5xs bigger than Boston and they go and sell off their iron just after taking a 3-1 lead against us in the 07 pennant? Is attendence that low in Cleveland or is it a tv thing?

I just dont understand how you can be so close to getting there and then essentially punting on 3rd down from midfield.

What are copperheads? Are you being serious about anything in this post?

The tribe has very dumb mangament. The tribe can't close out series since 1948. The attendance is low because the team plays so bad.

Good trade' date=' but by no means are they a lock.[/quote']

Agreed. It's between Philly and LA with St Louis/Chicago bringing up the rear as the other serious contender, IMO.

Hamels/Lee/Happ/Blanton is pretty tough though.

Copperheads are poisonous snakes.

The Guardians got an absolute haul from this deal

One of the players is hurt (the centerpiece of the deal), and the others mostly suck but one has a 98 mph fastball.

I have little fear of meeting Cliff Lee in a WS. Roy Halladay would have been a different deal.

The Sox have the advantage because their "big pitching prospect" is already MLB ready, and they have a number of other very good 'specs waiting in the wings (Bowden, Tazawa, Kelly) who will be developoing over the next few years. That allows them to still have some cost-controlled options to hang their hats on if they give up their Drabek equivalent in Buchholz.

The only youngsters I would really cringe if we lost at the deadline are Dan Bard and Josh Reddick. Everyone else is pretty easily replaceable in this system and therefore spendable to bring in the big player we feel we need..

And I'd only worry about Reddick because of the combination of Drew's health and Bay's contract. He may be needed here within the next 2 years.

The Phillies may not be a WS lock. There is no such thing as a lock, but they will now be the favorites. The smart money will be on the Phils. Hopefully, this paves the road to getting Halladay. If there is an opportunity to get Halladay, I hope Theo doesn't dick around trying to get a 3rd team involved or any ******** like that. If he tries to get too fancy, nothing will happen. I hope he doesn't wait until the final hour giving the Yankees a chance to steal him away. He should pressure Toronto to close the deal today. He can't give the Yankees the opportunity to eat our lunch, because they will.

Ya Im serious, I wondered why they became sellers last year with the season so young and I assumed it was monetarial. The Jake used to sell out and the population can certainly support a team, why has Cleveland become the Montreal Expos of the AL?

Copperheads are a snake very common in Kentucky and theyre poisonous.

I was told by a relative that theyre aggressive and that he needs to keep his lawn cut down like a golfgreen so he can see them coming when the kids are playing in the yard but he also lives in Paducah(sp) and I dont know where that is compared to Covington.

MURRAY -- Kentucky is home to 32 different species of snakes, most of which are not venomous. The four that carry poison are all pit vipers: the copperhead, cottonmouth, pigmy rattlesnake and timber rattlesnake.

The chance of encountering one of these species is low. But for many people the fear of snakes, a reaction psychologists term ''ophidiophobia,'' remains very real.

Pit vipers have a few distinguishing characteristics that make them easily identifiable from Kentucky's non-poisonous snakes. Their eyes have vertically slit pupils (non-venomous snakes eyes have round pupils). Pit vipers also have a ''sensory pit'' ...

I saw this show the other day about the reticulated python in Borneo. They can actually eat people!

Cliff Lee makes the Phils a pretty dangerous team in the playoffs. But until Brad Lidge gets his s*** together, no lead is safe for them.

Posted

They say that specific python CAN grow up to 40 feet and all kinds of witnesses have seen them that big or bigger..But the Smithsonian still has or did have a 1m bounty on any snake brought in over 30Ft, and its never been claimed, the closest thing to it was an Anaconda from Brazil at 29' and the Conda has definetly taken humans out whole.

Brad Lidge owes Houston an apology

Posted

In Florida they're finding these Pythons all over the place, none have broke 20feet yet but they will eventually cause they have no predators in that range of size..Outside of Ft Lauderdale in Cooper City the native chameleons have been replaced by Iguana's, some as big as 5 feet are seen lounging on canal shores on Griffin Rd..

We have f***ed with the eco system and that eco system will f*** us back, hard.

Didnt some asshat just lose his kid to a pet python that got out of its cage?

ummm ive been in Florida for a few months now and thank god i havent seen one of those mother f***ers, Id unload a shotgun into it, i dont f*** with snakes, whether they are 30ft long or 5 feet long i dont f*** with them. Ever since I was 8 yo. and I walked up on a 7 foot rattle snake in west texas ive had a deep hate of snakes...

im not sure if it was a tumble weed or a rattle snake but I did determine that it wasnt the place I should be pissing. You get bit out there you're f***ed good.

My best friend lives out in Orange Park on rte 295 in Jville

I know where Vanhorn is its not THAT far away from my hometown Midland TX and i actually live just outside of Orange Park in Green Cove Springs FL i know my location says J-ville but i put that because everyone knows where J-ville is but i could literally walk into Orange Park right now.

Nice area of a big town, Jacksonville has come a long long way in 35 years.

Small world isnt it?...I wouldve bet my life nobody on here wouldve heard of Van Horn Tx.

Do they still pump big oil out of that area or has it gone dry?

Im not bustin balls, Im just fascinated that Ive met someone who knows where Van Horn is.

Posted
Yeah that whole area was big in oil for awhile but it dried up pretty well awhile back, back in like 86 Midland/Odessa TX was the richest city per capita because of the oil and now they have become almost ghosts of their former selfs, all the rich oil exsecutives moved to Dallas and Houston and the Limos arent seen downtown anymore its kind of a desolate place, and im glad i finally moved away, but please dont let that be what you base your opinion of TX on west Texas, Austin is one of my favorite cities in the nation and i love the great state of TX...

Injury not serious.

Both pitchers have A+ potential.

Marson will make it to the bigs even if as a backup.

It's a good haul.

The Sox really need a pitcher. Bad Penney and John Smoltz are killing us. Halladay would be a great acquisition - can't wait for Friday. The Sox need a shot in the arm - pitching arm, that is.
