Well isn't this just wonderful...Every once in a while Paps has to come out and blow it in an ugly fashion reminding us that he's human. On top of that, I really hate it when he gives players the free base. You can't K everyone out and eventually it catches up to you as such. Green made some really ugly decisions on those two throws and now it's a tie ballgame...

We really could use the Yankee loss...we really could..

I can see that tonight, but talking about putting Papelbon out to pasture and such is just stupid. He's been one of the best closers in MLB for three seasons, and because he has more walks this season than usual and has THREE blown saves, everyone is clamoring for Bard. Papelbon is still a great closer. If we cut ties with him and Bard closes spectacularly for two seasons and then pitches like Papelbon has this season, are we going to call for his head too?

People need to chill out and relax. In fact, I would go so far as to say they need to chillax. We could be throwing Darren O'Day out there every other night, but we're not. We're throwing out a guy with three blown saves all season and an excellent track record, who may not have had a blown save if not for some questionable infield defensive decisions.

Yes, the first two outs were fine defensive plays, but how many no-hitters, saves, or other feats were saved by good plays?

CHILLAX HOMIES.

He's very, very lucky to only have 3 blown saves this year. s*** like this has been on the horizon for a very long time. He puts way too many runners on base. His track record was compiled when he still threw a splitter and was able to keep batters off balance. He is not the same pitcher. He pitches fastballs with hopes that the batter just won't keep up. That doesn't work in the MLB.

Maybe, maybe not, but the inning goes differently if a double play is in order.

And Spud's right, they'd get the lead runner and the runner would be at first not third.

I'm not debating that. I just think they had pretty much no chance to turn 2. That's all I'm saying.

I won't. At most I could cut off five of them. After one hand' date=' how would I hold the weapon to sever the other ones?[/quote']

I suppose you could always bite them off.

So let's say Papelbon is gone and Bard closes. When Bard starts getting into trouble, let's say it's next season sometime. Who closes?

But the inning was less likely to fly out of control with a runner at first than with the RISP, agreed?

I'm not the one advocating to let him go. At the same time, Papelbon has been asking for s*** like this to happen all year.

I'm not on the GET RID OF PAPELBON bandwagon. I am calling it as it is, though.

Chainsaw or hold the knife with your mouth/foot.

Too messy. I recommend just ripping the shielding off a table saw.

I had the very tip of some of my fingers bitten off before. It hurt more than I could imagine. I don't think I could bring myself to bite off more than one finger. Maybe the pinky.

I suppose if I could find some sort of table saw...

Can you not read? I said I WASN'T DEBATING THAT.

Or before you cut off the first five fingers' date=' attach some sort of blade to your wrist to cut off the other five.[/quote']

I like the table saw idea. There's no guarantee that I'll have enough strength or presence of mind to cut off the last five with a blow from my arm. With the saw, all I have to do is fall into it.

f***ing Nomar.
