It was kind of funny that you were putting words in my mouth, but now it's a little frustrating.

You said Ordonez is by far the better player than Drew, which I disagree with. I think Drew has been at least on par with Ordonez when healthy. I fully acknowledge that Ordonez is healthier more.

The original statement that I disagreed with was "Magglio is a much better hitter." Considering his miserable season, I disagree with this. That's it.

I didn't mean to put words in your mouth. Of course I wouldn't take Mags right now. His contract expires this season (club options after that). JD, though, isn't exactly playing well himself.

My whole point was that Mags didn't belong on the "over paid, bad contracts" lists.

I was responding to those. You said you would take Drew, I showed that Mags has been better, across the boards, than Drew (career, and '05+ vs Drew in Boston). I also compared him to Drew in Boston because we are talking about Drew in Boston and his contract vs Mag's contract. Mags has performed better than Drew, while playing a ton more games per season, during their current contracts.

Sorry If you took me as being hostile.

Fine, your opinion is that Ordonez has performed better than Drew when healthy. I disagree, but whatever. I said nothing about their contracts.

Also, sure their OPS+ are the same, but I take the higher SLG (.512 vs .491), higher BA (.310 vs .281), and much more durable Mags.

This is just cherry picking. Drew has the way higher OBP, which is why he has a higher OPS.

Exactly. That's the only offensive category Drew has been better in. (with OPS being a function of that). Mags has been just as good or better in every other. Of course, the biggest difference is playing time.

Also, one thing to consider about the RBI differences, Mags has been a much better hitter with RISP. Drew has posted almost identical number with RISP as his career stats overall (0.279, 0.408, 0.486, 0.894). Mags has performed significantly better than his overall career numbers with RISP (0.331, 0.406, 0.530, 0.936 ). Driving in runs isn't just team dependent, it also depends on how well you hit in RISP situations. Mags has been great.

I'll take this as a joke, but if it isn't, who is to say that Drew didn't? Could explain his durability issues.

It's no joke. When Canseco names you as a user, chances are you are/were a user. Canseco hasn't been wrong yet. Drew might be a user, but I haven't heard anything about him.

The point is, though, you don't know who did/or didn't outside of those named. Manny obviously juiced, are you ready to suggest Drew is the better hitter because he might be clean?

Until I hear otherwise, I'm going to assume he is clean. And working under that assumption, yes, he is the better hitter.

Mags stopped doing steroids and now can't hit. That's the truth, fellas.

Bay will stay in Boston, the Yankees will let Matsui and Damon go and get Holliday. They open with an OF of Holliday, Swisher and Brett Cabrera. If Damon or Matsui wants to come back, they'll slide them into DH at a discount.

The Cardinals just traded their best minor leaguer for Holliday, so I assume they intend to extend him. But you wonder about that cozy relationship Boras has with the Yankees.

I doubt Bay is going anywhere--the Red Sox don't have anybody to replace him. And Bay likes Boston. His dad was a Sox fan.

How do you think Drew got such a high voice?
