Strangely' date=' I keep finding myself rooting for the Rays to beat the Jays. This concept of the Rays competing with us is still somehow new to me. I have to keep looking at the standings to remind myself that the Rays are in 3rd.[/quote']

You are not alone. It's strange.

Hey destroyah_53! There was a Boston band called "DMZ" that had a song called "Destroyer". Some members may remember them as "The Lyres". Anyway, it would be cool to have this song played at Fenway as Pedroia comes to the plate. Just thinking. I'm an idea man.

Lets get some run support. 8 is a little too close.

Yeah, let's play for the manager's run x2. I think a 10 run lead should be safe.

Why not? He was lights out.

Because he's not stretched out anymore and he already threw 2 innings. Even if he was stretched out in Spring he hasn't been maintaining it with his usage pattern. Expecting him to go 2 was stretching it, 2+ with no rampup is insane.

There was no reason to take this risk. You have your entire bullpen available tonight. It was stupid.

He's gone more than 2 innings multiple times since going to the pen.

No he hasn't. 1+ he's done a lot of, but he's appeared in 2+ innings only four times all year, counting his brilliant relief of Matsuzaka that presaged his move to the rotation and twice in the aftermath of that move to the rotation. You know, while he was still stretched out. And the only other time he did it was 11 days ago. And he'd taken them through the 6th so there was no need to ask him to do it today.
