Pretty much title says it all. In the last 2 weeks or so Papi has hit 4 HR's and has an OPS north of 1.000, and it looks like he's got his confidence back as well

After an incredibly rocky start, it's great to see him rolling again. here's hoping the big guy can keep it up

I agree he will never be the old Papi. But at least he's useful now. I think he has shown that he can contribute for the rest of the season.

He had eight weeks of suck before these two weeks of awesome. If he can sustain til the ASB I will say he's bounced back.

Few players in history have achieved what he has from 2003- 2007. I can't think of any players that maintained that level of performance for more than a few years.

I hope he's back. But I never thought he was completely done anyway.

Loving those "no doubt" home runs and him beating the shift.

Go Papi!!!!

He sucked for a bit, so pitchers adjusted. Why walk a guy when he's not a threat to hurt you big with one swing? He's only really back when he can crush it regularly when pitchers are treating him like "Big Papi".

He's done. Enjoy this streak' date=' because it aint gonna last.[/quote']

This guarantee's at least a 900 OPS from Ortiz the rest of the season.

I'm interested in seeing what Tito does with the lineup...or at lease how much longer he keeps Ortiz under the 5 spot.

He should keep him there for the time being. If there are any changes it will be Ellsbury back to lead off, with Pedroia going back to the #2 spot. I see no reason to put ortiz back in the 3 hole. Drew/Bay or Youkillis are better options at this point for that spot.

I'd like to see,

Ellsbury

Pedroia

Drew

Bay

Ortiz

Youkillis

Lowell

Tek

Green/Lugo

Our toughest out in the 6 spot?

Really?

Good point. You know what that means, too many hitters worthy enough of hitting in the first 5 spots. Might as well start thinking about trading him. Youk for Hardy + 'tardy + G level 'spect?

Ya thats kinda rough seeing Youk that low in the lineup. I understand it in the sense that he's good at getting on base, and kinda setting the table, but he's a run producer too, foremost even.

Yes because everyone in front of Youk would obviously hit HR's every time they come to AB. Thus never being on base for Youk to drive home. I can see where you guys are coming from, but even then I still think Youk would have plenty of RBI chances.

My ideas may be out of the box. But what fun would it be to think exactly like everyone else does? It seems at the very least give you all something to write about.

ya, nothing wrong with throwing out ideas; well sometimes in a forum it can be :-D

Personally I like him in the 2 spot, and eventhough its typical that a guy like Jaco is your leadoff man, I like D-Ped there.

Drew only has a career .349 OBP in the leadoff spot. For some reason, the leadoff spot seems to be a black hole on this team, with the exception of Youk, since Damon left

Ellsbury will never have a really high OBP. At least not until he loses a step or two. He's too dangerous to put on for free. Pitchers tend to come right at him. Thus making it hard to walk, and hard to keep a higher OBP%.
