No Gom. No Jacko.

We know, you're both so busy that you haven't been watching any of the games. Gom has been busy using his amazing objectivity to work harder than anyone here can. Jacko is busy saving lives.

Perhaps if they had watched, the Yanks wouldn't have lost. What happened to that zero game lead?

I havent seen a game since the beginning of the Twins series. I was working all day and will be doing so through the end of the summer and through the winter. The light at the end of the tunnel is getting closer, but I am still far enough away to know it.

In the end, from an armchair QB POV, Girardi did not manage his pen well. His best relievers this yr have been Coke, Hughes and Rivera. We had leads in all three games and in two of those games, the pen was handed a tie or a lead. The fact that Coke kinda torpedoes himself with his error and WP didnt help. But not using Hughes as a long guy in one of those games really hurt us. Girardi needs to know he is coming up against 3 days rest for everyone and he should have gone harder after at least one win than he did. Regardless, we just cannot beat that team in their park

Talking about your man-crush for Coke.

You, for one, should be worried about his diminished velocity and command problems.

Overuse perhaps?

I'm glad Red Sox fans aren't in such denial about their loses. I'd vomit if I had to read about how all our loses were Francona's fault and all our wins are because our team is awesome.

The Angels flat outplayed you. They outpitched you, they outran you and they played better defense. That's why you got swept.

If Coke and his 3.99 ERA is one of the Yankees better relievers as Jacko says, then their pen really does suck.

they did outplay us by a lot. I think that we could have taken one game in the series if we used Hughes in the Aceves role. Thats it.

His 1.04WHIP is a bit more telling of how good he has been than his ERA. But then again, you dont know much about baseball, so I dont expect you to know this

He has a .200 BABIP, and that is unsustainable.

:lol::lol::lol:

If you want to pretend like you know more about baseball than me, I'd be happy to school you any day of the week.

Phil Coke - 3.99 ERA, 7.28 K/9, 3.29 BB/9, 1.04 WHIP, .206 BABIP, 4.58 FIP

Looks like he's been overperforming by about .60 points of ERA. His FIP is more telling than his WHIP. But then again, it's a lot harder to pretend you know about baseball than it is to pretend you're a doctor over the internet.

Wait, so if a poster uses only ERA to demonstrate a pitcher's ability, that means they don't know much about baseball?

your ace has a 3.62ERA' date=' ours has a 3.76. Not much difference.[/quote']

Ah, OK. That explains a lot.

I'm sorry, but that is a pretty ridiculous analysis for the series. First off, the bullpen was never handed a lead. Second, the bullpen was only handed a tie once, and that was with one out in the fifth inning. What in the world would you have wanted Girardi to have done differently? You want him to go to Phil Hughes in the 5th or 6th inning of Friday's game. That is crazy. How many innings would you have wanted him to pitch? He already pitched the previous two game. The Yankees also have to think about the next two games. Lets face it, Chamberlain and Pettitte were awful, and Sabathia was not much better. Also, this team is pretty bad defensively. The sweep this weekend is, in no way, Girardi's fault.

I knew either you or Gom would come through with some reason. You made the exact same point about the bullpen that I was trying to make, but you made it much better. Yankees starters pitched less than 5 innings 4 nights in a row, there's nothing Girardi could have down differently with the bullpen that would have been much more effective.

Burnett with 5 walks through 5' date=' as well as a HBP and a throwing error that led to a run. Not only that, he's being outpitched by a guy named 'Lucas French' which has to be the most embarrassing part.[/quote']

He's had that kind of control all year but he's "Daisuke'd" is way to an ERA in the 3's. Whoever's in left for the Tigers just ran right by a ball in the outfield, it went between his legs and rolled to the wall to allow a run.

3-2 Tigers

That was some bad baserunning by the Yankees. That throw to home wasn't even good, it bounced in and it was up the line and the catcher still had enough to time get the throw from the first base side of home, and reach back across his body to tag out Posada in plenty of time.

Was Nick Swisher involved by any chance?

Nope, this one was on the third base coach for sending Posada around third even though the outfielder had the ball as Posada was rounding the base.

Tex got a 3 run home run. Gotta give him credit for getting a hit with RISP. It was to right field, but it was legit.

Guess what I just learned from whatever show is on during the rain delay? Alex Rodriguez gets a new hair cut every 10 days! Awesome.

On that note, I'm out. Have a great night everyone!

Some yankee fan he is.

Apparently he had no idea Yankee ballwashers called Phil Hughes "Phil Phranchise".

It's a totally foreign concept to him.

It would be really nice if Jeter didn't run with nobody out and the heart of the order coming up.

Anyway, Verlander has a heck of a change up. The 2-1 he threw to Damon and the 3-2 he threw to Teixeira were ridiculous.
