if i was a yankee id forgive jeter there being that he consistently makes good decisions at the plate on the bases and on D he is easily the Yankee that i respect the most with A-roid and Posada being the ones i respect the least...hahahaha nice job Rios the yanks fans know how to help there team haha

It's not like anyone is holding a grudge. It was a poor decision, and it's just being pointed out.

It's not a stupid play if you can make it. The reality of it is the umpire missed the call. It happens.

It was a bad play by Jeter. The throw beat him by a mile.

And it's not only the result that makes it a bad play. As DSF pointed out, the risk is simply not worth the potential gain.

Great play there.

What really concerns me about Pettitte is that I'm not sure he can throw the ball much better than he has today. He's fallen behind to a number of hitters, but even when he is at his best, he's doing this. I've said this before, but the Yankees rotation to really a concern to me.

And another bad base running decision by the Yankees.

Ricky Romero is pretty awesome.

Jays will totally blow this, though.

Gotten relatively lucky so far though, although he has gotten some big strikeouts with runners on base. Regardless, he is falling behind most of the hitters, and there have been a number of hard hit balls that have been caught. He also got an out when Jeter tried to steal third.

Right, that's why I posted that Jeter got thrown out stealing third with no outs. That's one of the cardinal sins of baseball.

Yup, just expanding on your point.

Another terrible decision on the base paths, as Romero continues to get lucky.

Brett Gardner needs to be the starting center fielder. The difference between him and Melky defensively is much greater than the difference between the two offensively.

I meant in general.

And since I drafted him for AFL

You have to give some credit to Romero. He might not be pitching dominantly right now, but he's a pretty good pitcher and he does have a shut out.

Romero has been great lately. My only point was that he has not pitched so well today. He has benefitted from some good defense on well struck balls and some bad base running.

EDIT: And hopefully this home run will be a sign of things to come.

yeah in the end its whats on the scoreboard that counts, i think alot of this is luck but i also think he is and will be a good pitcher...damn i spoke too soon, Heinske? really? you give the run up to Heinske?

Pettitte's had a WHIP over 1.40 in each of the last 3.5 years. This year it's 1.50. So he does get himself into a lot of trouble.

Of course lol. Both of the home runs today have been NYS specials.

Huh? Rios hit a home run to left-center.

Ball carries well to both fields. There have been more cheap ones hit to right, but there have definitely been a bunch of cheap ones hit to left.

I'm not sure how cheap a 380 foot home run to left-center is is. Especially considering that the wind current pushes balls away from left field.

is there a hitter more streaky than Swisher? (this is one of those questions that doesnt need a real anwer by the way being that ive already decided he is streaky)
