Good morning ms lynda.

Its been an awfully long time since we chatted, hope all is well with Rico, Nick and your charming Sister in Law who keeps emailing nude photos of herself.

Kidding of course, we're all well here in the valley of the mighty blackstone, are you coming to boston this summer?

All is well in the Capital of the Confederacy. Rico is well, Nick just finished his 1st year at James Madison Univ and Barb is still a 'ho...ha ha.

Unless I win the lottery, won't have the funds to make it up to Boston this summer, money is tight, unfortunately.

My best to the wife, kids and TMW.

Miss ya bro.

Yankees suck  But are playing extremely well these days.

This is funny. You actually use ESPN for making stat-related points?

Check out this:

http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/m/molinjo01-field.shtml

According to baseball reference, his CERA was 4.62 with the Yankees, but 13.39 in ESPN. Wait a sec...I'd be willing to forgive your error in not noticing there was a mistake there..if right above it, for Molina's 2007 in LA, in over 300 IPs..his CERA was...ZERO. When he caught, the Angels didn't give up a run. Ever. LOL!

A word of advice: Don't use ESPN to make stat-based arguments.

Why did his CERA rise so significantly? Would the pitchers on the mound have anything to do with that?

So Teixeira paid for that slide last night. He was scratched from the lineup because of a bruise on his right ankle. Because of this, I kind of hope they don't play tonight.

Pettitte does not have one start where it is not a struggle.

What, so you mean one of the uber-workhorse Yankee starting pitchers can actually get into trouble and rack up a pitch count?

Posted

Of all the guys in the rotation, I hate when Pettitte starts. He did lose two strikes on Kinsler, leading off, so that might very well have made a different. With that being said, he was terrible in the inning.

Considering how well Feldman has pitched as of late, and the fact that they don't have Teixeira in the lineup, winning this game could prove to be quite difficult.

When did I say anything to the contrary?

Jacko's fact driven post whch you clearly backed up.

See, if Pettite keeps this up, this is one of those nights where having a long man out of the pen (Phil Hughes) can prove really valuable.

Jacko, the first stolen base the runner didn't get a good jump. A good throw would have got him.

He was saying that the starters generally go deep in the game. The numbers he used were facts.

As for the long man, throw Brett Tomko out there. With an eye towards the future, Hughes would benefit more from being in triple AAA, starting on schedule every fifth day.

Horrible AB from Damon out of the three hole. Swung at two pitches out of the strike zone, the first one being when he was ahead 2-1 in the count.

But his execution was poor. You have stated yourself your 1-4 are not gonna average 6.1 innings every start for the rest of the season.

Brett Tomko sucks.

A lot of good pitchers have finished refining their repertoire on the bullpen.

Johan Santana comes to mind.

Oh absolutely. But many pitchers have also benefitted from spending some extra time in the minor leagues. I'm of the opinion that Hughes would benefit from that.

As for Tomko, he deserves a shot. He was great in spring training, great in AAA, and he has done well since he got called up.

Don't tell Jacko this. He'll have a f***ing coronary.

It speaks volumes to how much Pettitte is struggling that he fell behind Andrus. This is a guy who showed bunt on 3-1, the best hitters count, trying to draw a walk.

Jees' date=' Pettitte has nothing tonight, but it makes it even more difficult when he loses two strikes in a single AB again.[/quote']

Wonder why that happened.

Grounding into a DP with the sacks full when you are down 3 should from this moment on be referred to as, "Hitting into an ARod".

The difference between Arod and team ball was on display last night.

Yanks down 4-1, bases loaded for Arod on a 3-1 count

and Arod 7 irons ball 4 into a 5-4-3 inning ending dp and the guys who have been riding the yankees for the last month were going out of their minds because that ball was so low i swear it bounced before Arod swung at it.
