his blog isnt working. Now the question becomes, is he a HOFer? I dont think he'll make it first ballot, but I dont think a guy like this gets past the veteran's. So I think he'll be a HOFer eventually, and will probably go in as a DBack.

Why Arizona?

He spent 8.5 years in Philly. Then he's in Arizona for 3.5 years before spending 4 in Boston. If it's a time of service thing, then there's a script P on his head. If it's a legacy thing, it's a B. The 2004 postseason is what probably gets him over the hurdle of not compiling stats.

He was the money in big games. He said he was coming to Boston to end an 86 year old curse, and in fact, he did a commercial where he made that exact statement. He made good on his boast. Couple the pre-season boast with the bloody sock game and Schilling's myth will grow for generations.

Thanks for a great career, Curt. You left it all out there and your last pitch was thrown in winning a World Series game.

You had a heck of a career. You owe nobody anything. Enjoy your retirement, your gaming company, your political ambitions or whatever the heck else you've got in mind. You've earned it.

Good riddance. bye Curt!

And i hope he gets passed over for the Hall, or like somebody said at least make damn sure Blyleven gets in.

I hate Curt Schiiling and I'm glad to see him go out like this. Not to take away from his accomplishments and ability, but you know where I'm coming from.

You are glad that he went out having thrown his last pitch in a World Series victory that brought a second World Championship to Boston? I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy.

Go out like what? The last baseball game he played in, he was the winning pitcher for his team in the WS that they went on to win. That's going out on top. Given the tenor of the rest of your juvenile post, I hardly think you are happy he's going out a champion.

You really think anyone's going to remember the 2008 contract 5 years from now? Hardly. Schilling's legacy is going to be as a guy who was dominant in the playoffs, left it all on the field, and sacrificed his body for the good of the team on numerous occasions. The fact that he was also outspoken doesn't distinguish him from that many all-stars including no small number of hall of famers.

Ohh how expected you would look at it like that. This motherf***er went out hurt and a thief. If he walked away after the '07 Series then great, all the power in the world to him. He sat home and collected $8 mil last year for doing nothing, and tried to sign somewhere this year, only choosing to retire towards the tail end of Spring training after nobody would give him a shot. That's not going out on your own terms, or going out with grace and class.

Take off the red, rosey sunglasses people. Get a clue. He went out a champion my ass

Curt Schilling went out a bum. Nobody could stand him and his big mouth enough to even offer him an invite to camp. You guys are straight up delusional.

I didn't expect you to agree, hence me calling your post juvenile. This response is no different.

Dojji is right. Move forward into the future, and nobody, except for a few with an agenda against him (this means you), will remember or care that he didn't pitch in '08. BBRef lists his last year as 2007, and his postseason stats include a win in the WS that year. This is the legacy that will survive. Like it, don't like it? I don't care, that's just what will happen.

Oooh... still so bitter! I guess it is going to take a long time to for the bleeding rectums of the Yankee fans to heal. Schilling ended the chemically engineered Yankee Dynasty of the late 90's and then led the Yankees' chief rivals in a victory that humiliated the Yankees on their own field completing the biggest post season choke in the history of the game. The fact that Yankee fans hate him so much enhances his legend for Red Sox fans. He walks on water for us and ended his career with a World Series victory.:harhar:

Thanks for the two rings Curt, will look forward to not hearing him talk anymore, especially with the way he stole $8 million in 2008.

I hope he keeps voicing his opinion. In addition to being the best big game pitcher of his generation, he is a fan of the game. I look forward to his insights. I'd like to see him and Eck in studio after some Sox pitcher has stunk up the joint. That would be pretty entertaining.

Let me rephrase:

I love everything Curt Schilling gave the Red Sox on the baseball diamond and dislike most everything off it.

Still, shutting up 55,000 New Yorkers always makes you OK in my book.

I've talked to schilling before on a different message board. He came to advertise his new game. I asked him a few questions about it.

Seemed like a knowledgeable guy. He can also throw a baseball pretty well too. I'm not sure if he's a hall of famer, but definitely a great pitcher.

SIR YES SIR!

Anything you say, my superior. Because I feel his legacy is tarnished based on how he went out, that makes me a juvenile. Whatever you say, sir!

What he went out as hardly defines his career.

Look at gabe kapler. He went out a bum but nobody forgets that lofty hitting streak he had at one point. Same with Kevin Mench. He also went out a bum but nobody will forget his size 18 head.

Actually these guys still might be playing. I don't have any idea.
