Baseball great Roberto Alomar has full-blown AIDS but insisted on having unprotected sex, his ex-girlfriend charged Tuesday in a bombshell lawsuit.

The shocking claim was leveled by Ilya Dall, 31, who said she lived with the ex-Met for three years and watched in horror as his health worsened.

In papers filed in state and federal court, Dall said Alomar finally got tested in January 2006 while suffering from a cough, fatigue and shingles.

"The test results of him being HIV-positive was given to him and the plaintiff on or about Feb.6, 2006," the $15 million negligence suit says.

His lawyer flat out denied he has AIDS which normally I'd take with a grain of salt but it's pretty hard to hide if your client has AIDS

Even his dad said he had no idea he has AIDS

Weird story

Nine days later, the couple went to see a disease specialist who discovered a mass in the retired second baseman's chest, the court papers say.

Alomar's skin had turned purple, he was foaming at the mouth and a spinal tap "showed he had full-blown AIDS," the suit says.

And his lawyer is going to claim that he doesn't have AIDS?

The thing I don't get though is why would the lawyer lie about something that can so easily be disproved?

I think you're spot on, seems like a weak defense if the plaintiff can force him to have a blood test and submit the results.

Maybe they think there is no way he can be forced to have a blood test???

I'm sure if the case went to trial, at some point the court would force him to have a blood test. Seems like it would be the judge's first order of business.

And I love this part of the story:

Dall, a mother of two who has run a massage spa in Queens, would not discuss the suit.

"I have no comment," she said outside her lavish home in Whitestone, Queens, after getting out of a black Cadillac Escalade.

What the hell do her living arrangements or car she drives have anything to do with anything?

Not sure...HIPPA laws might prohibit it, so it may not matter what the judge wants to do, the court's hands might be tied.

Damn, that's my girlfriend's neighborhood.

Weird, weird story.

She is just as guilty as he is if she knew he had the Aids and still had unprotected sex with him then it's just as much her fault as his you think they would have been smart about it. Either way it's one weird story.

Doesn't the entire case hinge on whether or not he has AIDS? And even if they can't force him, if he refuses, it's outright guilt in my eyes

Good thing Alomar didn't have AIDS when he spit on that umpire.

You can't transmit AIDS via saliva anyway so it's a moot point.

Yezsir, maybe you should read the article.

No mention of a deficient immune system BEFORE that food left an AIDS ridden mouth.

Now after, boy that is a different story.

If that umpire truly wishes him well he should be Sainted.

He's a better man than me.

It's blood, not saliva, that carried the virus because in at least two of the cases the infected mothers had bleeding gums or mouth sores, according to investigators at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

So it doesn't do much to disprove the whole saliva thing.

What? Yes it does. There mouths bled. That blood went in their mouth... its not hard. it's already been proven that you need to drink like a bucket of spit to even come close to the necessary amount to give you HIV. besides spitting on someone isin't going to get them infected. even getting blood on your arm or something wont, unless you got a cut

Even if you get cut, it doesnt guarantee anything. AIDS is actually not a very hardy virus and even if you get a direct transfusion of blood from a AIDS donor, it doesnt guarantee you get AIDS. Hep C OTOH, damn near never dies

Let him spit in your eye and I will believe it.

Tom

ATLANTA - For the first time, health officials report that the AIDS virus can be spread by a mother pre-chewing her infant's food, a practice mainly seen in poor, developing countries.

Three such cases were reported in the United States from 1993-2004, government scientists said Wednesday in a presentation in Boston at a scientific conference.

It's blood, not saliva, that carried the virus because in at least two of the cases the infected mothers had bleeding gums or mouth sores, according to investigators at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

I'm saying it doesn't disprove that you can't get HIV just from transferring saliva. There has to be blood involved. You're not saying anything different than what I am.

A) Awful, awful joke, i'll call it a brainfart since you're usually a great poster.

B ) AIDS= Not contagious trough saliva.

That is all.

It wasn't really supposed to be a joke. It was just the first thing that popped into my head. Like a free association thing.
