Who is your AL MVP, and why?

Pedroia, became the Heart and Soul of a big time franchise. The underdog quality of him( he's a wee one he is), played all aspects of the game.

Pedroia. He was studly, and he played at a weak offensive position.

I voted for Youkilis. Great average, good power and RBI, amazing defensivly at TWO positions, just a great season for him in so many ways.

I would say it's a two horse race between Mauer and Pedroia simply because offense is so difficult to find at those positions. I'll give the slight edge to Pedroia because of the edge in VORP and WARP1.

Carlos Quentin might win it. IMO, it should be Youkilis, but I think they both end up stealing votes from each other and someone else will win it

My choice would be Youk. Good combo of power numbers and average and OPS...combined with his fielding prowess, he's the MVP, IMO.

Josh Hamilton plays a tougher defensive position and put up very similar offensive numbers.

His numbers decreased as the year went down and Texas was under .500 and 21 games back of the Angels.

Hamilton flared out after the All-Star break. Despite the feel good story, I don't see him getting the MVP.

 

 

I'm shooting for Pedroia or Youkilis. I'd really like to see Pedroia get it. He plays a great defensive second baseman, and the guy can f***ing hit when everyone said just the opposite.

 

ROY, WS Ring, and MVP is a excellent way to berth a life long career in Boston.
