Seriously, I want to ask you this:

If you had your choice, losing like this in the 7th game, would you have gone back and changed the result for game 5?

In other words, would you rather have lost 7-0 at home in game 5, or comeback and then lose game 7?

Just curious.

Game 5 was one the best games ever played.

No. At least we went down swinging and that's all you can ask for. I would've HATED seeing us bow out without a whimper at Fenway like that. We played hard, we defended our title, but in the end just didn't get it done. Plus, Tampa has a really good team down there. It's not like we lost to a team of nobodies.

nope. It does kind of make game 5 feel less important though. If we had gone on to win the worldseries, that would have been the greatest/most important comeback ever.

I can't see any Sox fan saying they'd rather have lost it in 5 than 7. Especially in the manner they did it. Them winning game 5 and 6 just shows how much of a baseball powerhouse they are and it made everyone watching who wasn't a Sox realize they can NEVER be comfortable with ANY lead (at any point in the game) against them.

And dammit if they didn't piss me off to the fullest.

I got to live and die with the Sox for 2 more games and that's all I want to do for as many days as the season schedule and the postseason run allow me to.

Seriously. I'm telling you. Armor plated kneepads.

Truthfully, just seeing the team go down with a fight was good enough for me. They barely registered a pulse midway through game five... watching them show heart and fight back makes me feel a whole let better going into the offseason and then into next season.

No. I was at game 5.

I thought this season was amazing. I'm a little irritated that we lost tonight, but there is NO shame in losing to Tampa Bay. They are one hell of a team. To bring this series to 7 games was more than I could have asked for from them with how they were playing from game 2 to midway through game 5.

I liked it better this way. The team went down fighting to a very good(and at this point better) TB team.

I'd keep it the way it is. We brought the game back to their house. Put the pressure on them. Despite them winning, they didn't dance on our field. That makes me happy.

No for two reasons. One, it stopped them from celebrating in Fenway, and two, loss or not it gave us two more Red Sox games for the season. I'd rather have a losing regular season, say 75-87 or something, than have no Sox games at all. So the extra games were nice for me to take my mind off of life.

I can't wait until 2009.
