I'm not going to lie I'm very impressed with this Rays club and out of all the teams we've faced in the playoffs this year and in years past I will actually root for them if they do indeed beat us tonight, which it seems will be. Upton, Longoria, Pena, I enjoy watching these players.

As title defenses go, this was the best one since 2001. Most teams that win or lose the WS don't even make the playoffs the following year.

 

Hey, we got through the first round against a very good team. Once we get a bit of distance and can look at this season properly, not a half bad performance.

I agree to an extent. I don't think you can ever say that a season is a complete disappointment if you don't make the playoffs, because some teams have different goals, at least in the regular season. Both the Red Sox and Yankees goals this year were indeed to win it all, and both failed. Neither seasons were a success, though the Sox went further, which makes me feel better. Still, I don't really know how you could consider it a success to beat the other team in the playoffs but still not win it all.
