Lin would be skipping AA and AAA, without really dominating any A level. I know you were being sarcastic, but I want to address the whole "get rid of Ellsbury" thing. Outside of making a trade, there's no realy good chance for improvement this offseason. Nothing ready in house, nothing on the market. Not in CF.

 

I think this is a good thing. His performance in the minors and his flashes of brilliance in the majors should be enough to warrant another look next year. I'm frustrated that he's struggling, but there's reason to think he can do more.

 

Rookie mistake trying to be the hero.

 

I know you can't get rid of Ellsbury but I think he's a perfect example of what happens when you get a chubby over a supposed stud prospect too quickly.

 

All of his skills are tied to his speed. Once that goes, he might be done.
