No it is childish to boo anyone....

Truth.

I'll cheer Manny. He's wearing a different uniform but he's still a favorite player of mine, regardless of where he plays (even if he signs in New York during the offseason).

I hate boobirds, they come across as juvenile *******s, many of whom feel its a way that they can be part of the event, as they're part of the "pay attention to me goddammit" faction of fans.

At the same time, I don't think anyone owes any player anything. In the event of a Dodgers-Sox WS, to me Manny will be a feared opponent, based upon his hitting ability, but nothing more. After the series I can again think about the excitement he brought when he hit for us, but as an opponent, he gets no adulation (or booing) from me.

Manny set a terrible precedent and acted like a baby. I see no reason to cheer him.

He did a lot for this franchise, and I for one loved him as a player regardless of if he ran 100% on groundouts.

What does it say when a player can essentially stop playing, all the while complaining about the team and the city and the fans in order to poison the well to force a trade, only to have the fans welcome him back as a hero?

Manny totally ruined it for me. I used to subscribe to the Manny being Manny thing, but not anymore. He's a calculating, manipulative player who doesn't deserve our cheers. Let the *******s on Dodger Blues cheer him on (expect them to make some appearances around here by the way should it be Sox Dodgers in the WS).

World Series MVP in 2004. I seem to remember something Yankee fans used to chant....had something to do with 1918 or 86 years.

He only carried your team last year to the World Series, hitting .375 and .409 in the ALDS/CS. Did he have a game-winning hit off of K-Rod?

Terrible precedent? He only had a 1.060 OPS in July. Wait...he was still playing for your team then. Yeah, he was really tanking it...a .347 BA and a .587 SLG.

For all the fans who would boo Manny if/when he ever comes back to Fenway:

You've lost the right to criticize Yankee fans as ungrateful/fickle/etc.

Forever.

Says the guy who threw Torre under the bus.

My point of view makes sense as a fan. It's not limited to on the field performance, he acted like a douche to force a trade. What's to be rewarded there?

I never liked Torre as a manager, but I would never have booed him. One is a manager, the other is a player. Comparing apples and oranges.

If it wasn't for him, it would be 90 years and still counting. Believe it.

I would cheer him. You don't have to like what he did, but he gave it his all for you until he got conned by Boras. Even then, he still played to his ability in July.

Let's just suppose that it's the sox and dodgers in the series... Would you boo Manny?

NO WAY! NOT IN A MILLION, PERSONALLY. But he will be boo'd.

Find Scott BorASS and either, boo him or kick his Satan ass or kill him LOL!

I think anyone from 2004 should be cheered at Fenway. Look the guy lead us to two world series titles. Was a hall of fame player here. He didnt quit, thats ********, he would have keeped playing. Saying he wouldnt play here was most likely all Boras trying to force the Red Sox hand. Boras didnt want Manny staying here, so the options on his contract could be dropped, and Boras could get paid. I would cheer Manny. By the way I would say playing in 100/109 games isnt really considered quiting on the team, especially since he is a 36 year old player.

Also from the guy who said he was giving his season tickets away because he refuses to watch a team finish in 4th place. 2 days ago I believe. I'll take em there skipper (fickle and a hypocrite and really inconsistent with your logic so to speak) and sell them on EBAY to suckers like you with a sense of entitlement waiting for the second incarnation of Manny. MILE WIDE INCH DEEP. I watched my team finish in 4th place and worse for years. I didn't pout or stomp my feet. Just tossed a lot of remote controls. And dealt with it.

Right? Rumplestilkskin

I don't want to spend 18,000 a year on tickets for a team that has a crappy GM.

My fandom won't change. How much I care to invest probably will.

As for supporting my team, I probably see more games in a year than you do in a decade. So let's not go there, ok?

Oct 10 943 RED SOX SERIES -135

5:35 PM 944 RAYS SERIES +105

sox open as favorites?

the way tampa handled them in back to back late season series shows me they dont care about the jewelry, the history or anything, theyre a team that played good baseball for 6 months and deserves to be here above anyone...

that said

i think theyre due for a f***ing beating.

they won both series late season,1 game they croaked beckett in the 8th

the other series they got 1 off paps in the 9th.

the sox are playing the best baseball of their season, lester is 3-0 with an 0.77 era against the rays

hopefully we can get kato matsusaka on board here and pitching becks on his regular routine will be enuff to get us by these guys.

hi jamie.

So Manny deserves none of the blame?

I would cheer Manny his first AB and hope he strikes out looking.

Not saying non the of the blame. But not enough blame to boo him, after all he has done here. I agree, that would be a fitting situation.
