Mystery pitcher? None other than A.J. Burnett. Sure makes you wonder if this guy might be the best free agent pitcher out there for our respective teams.

Burnett has an inability to stay healthy and consistent. his stuff has never been in question and when hes on, hes as unhittable as anyone

What a load of puffery? Any coincidence that Gom's new "mystery man" is the same guy his owner is dead set on getting? Sure, he's good, if he takes the field. I certainly hope he's the focus and they pass on Sabathia.

Not at all, ORS. I knew he beat the crap out of us, I just didn't know he was that good against you guys as well. He seems to be a pitcher who pitches to the competition. I also didn't know that Lester was that dominant against Tampa. Just a little fun, that's all. By looking at those numbers, I'd say Halladay, Burnett, then Lester in that order. I put in Moose as the obligatory Yankee, but he truly doesn't deserve to be on that list.

Stop comparing me to the other people here, RSN and Yankeedom alike who believe their guys are better than your guys because of the uniform they wear. I'm as objective as they come here.

He has the potential to be Carl Pavano.

Make you feel better?

Carl Pavano is s*** compared to A.J. Burnett. Injury wise I guess I could see the compairison.

He has the potential to be Josh Beckett, also.

Halladay is the best pitcher in the east.

The argument really is Halladay, Lester, or Burnett. The others really don't match up, based on the criteria I've established.

Oh, OK. Let's make all arguments based off of Gom's criteria.

IMO, it's the following:

Halladay

Beckett

CMW

Lester

Burnett

Kazmir

Matsuzaka

Shields

Mussina

Garza

For the ALE top 10.

I really think Beckett is the 2nd most over rated pitcher in the AL East after Wang. I'd put Lester, Kaz and Burnett over him.

We agree on one thing. No one comes close to touching Halladay. What a horse.

You cant throw Beckett in the same class as Wang. How many big October games has Wang won compared to Beckett?

C.C. Sabathia looks like he could pitch every night.

Only for so long...he is human. The Brewers did a nice job of putting some miles on that arm. Plus he is out of shape and a injury waiting to happen.
