I love how through the entirety of this thread all that you guys have done is take my every word and twist it. Like when I said that the new Stadium is more profitable than the current one, or when I said that local businesses benefit from the Yankees. There's something wrong here.

Maybe the reason your frightened walking down those streets is because you're a bitchy little New England boy. That might explain it.

You really should meet Mr. Crunchy, and learn how he makes his living.

Your math skills and baseball knowledge run hand in hand i see.

you use the N word very liberally dont you...

Let me guess...

you wear your pants below your waist with your hat on backwards with fake gold chains on your basketball tank top and occasionally bust out a dance move while strutting down the street jamming with your homies?

God I admire you.

You say Nigger liberally in the bronx do you??

You and your homies call each other nigger as in ""NIGGER PLEASE"" or me and my NIGGERS be chillin?

Or I''ll smoke dat nigga if he get up in my face?

Jesus Christ almighty are you a fatherless child who is looking for attention or God forbid an adult who speaks like this amongst his peers?

I know black people who dont appreciate the word and dont go around calling each other niggers,in fact it would get you carved up like a turkey where i am from.

bitchy little new england boy?

sonny if you only knew 1/2 the story you'd mind your f***ing manners.

being cautious and aware of my surroundings doesnt mean I lack the skills to take you over my knee and discipline you like your daddy shouldve.

I will leave this thread to you Nyers,it must be difficult when the highlight of your season is the closing of Yankee stadium.

Haha now you've got me laughing.

Ok, take a quote from me when I was s***-faced and do what you want with it. Do I liberally say nigger? No. Do people in today's society say "nigga" a lot, yes. Am I one of them? No. Do I know many of them? Yes. Did I say it that night in that post, yes. Did it offend anyone here? Perhaps, if so I apologize. Growing up in New York you're faced with so much diversity that you learn to coexist and respect people of other races and ethnicities. That may not be the case in New England, where the people are as white as the snow. So because I s*** on you for claiming facts on things that were in fact wrong you get your panties in a waist and wanna take personal shots at me? Fine. Do it up. Like you said though, I don't know half of your story growing up on the mean streets of Bahhston. But from what you've said I do know thatthe way you act there is very different then the way you act here, when you walk down one of the safest streets in the Bronx with your tail between your legs and cower in fear atthe sight of a black man. Instead of avoiding eye contact, just look at them and smile. They're not gonna "jump you" or "bust a cap in yo ass" for it. They're people just like you and I and the other Marky Mark wannabe white boys in New England. Be polite and respectful and you'll have no reason to s*** your pants around every corner.

And yes, I agree that it is a shame that our season's highlight is the Stadium's closing. But before you point and laugh, don't forget where your team was in October just 2 years ago.

You're right. I don't know him or what he does. But the things he says about my hometown offend, especially when half of what he says is completely fabricated and exaggerated. And to question what I do in this town is not his place. To call me out and say "have you ever walked down the street in the big-bad bronx after 10pm" is laughable. Sure, I've had unfavorable encounters here, but no reason for me to cower in fear with my tail between my legs on my way to the deli my grandfather helped build 50 years ago, or getting off the subway at 161st Street & River Ave. I don't take well to ignorance. Is it his fault that he's not from here and is unfamiliar with the place,no. But don't claim "That dump on 159th and Jerome.....blah blah blah" because it makes you look stupid.

You know what, I'm just gonna drop this. It doesn't even matter. If he wants to be ignorant and live his life believing that Yankee Stadium exists on 159th and Jerome then that's cool. If he want's to think that he's going ot be mugged around every turn, then good, He'sprobably better off staying off of these streets. Do what you gotta do "sonny." Based on Paradisecity regarding your means of living, you're probably a big Boston tough guy. But Boston and NEw York are 2 different playgrounds. Just like I wouldnt step out of line up there, where I know nothing about my surroundings, I guess it's a good thing you do the same here. Have a great day in your beautiful city where the safe streets are bumpin all hours of the night.

Oh, and speaking of safety, I just wanted to make this point. How many people were killed or injured in the Bronx during Yankee pennant and World Championship celebrations? ...and this is the more dangerous of the two, right?

Clemens 'heartbroken' by Yankees video snub

Estranged former Yankee Roger Clemens was "heartbroken" when his former team left him out of Sunday night's Stadium-farewell festivities, which included a video montage honoring the Bronx Bombers' greatest pitchers - but not him, a relative told The Post yesterday.

Clemens was sitting at home in hurricane-ravaged Texas, in front of a battery-operated television on his living room couch, when the team delivered a final crushing blow to its former star.

Clutching wife Debbie's hand on one side and mother-in-law Jan Wild's on the other, Clemens tuned in to his final team's last home game hoping for some recognition for helping win two World Series titles, Wild said.

But that Rocket never launched.

When the team played the video celebrating its greatest players at every position, the steroid-scandal-scarred Clemens was nowhere to be seen.

"Debbie and I held his hand while we watched the game, and he was heartbroken," said Wild, 70. "Not mad. He still loves baseball and the Yankees, but it was sad what they did to him."

Even Chuck Knoblauch -- who was also named in the scathing Mitchell Report on steroids -- was acknowledged on the big screen, hailed as the second baseman of the 1990s. Fellow steroid targets Andy Pettitte and Jason Giambi were at the Stadium in uniform for the Yankees.

Aside from Clemens, also noticeably absent from mention was former manager Joe Torre, who guided the Yankees to 12 straight playoffs and four World Series victories.

"A lot of great Yankees were not mentioned," the team insisted in a statement. "There was no slight intended, and perhaps both Clemens and Torre should have been mentioned as well as several others."

Clemens watched the telecast inside his mansion, which is still suffering the effects of Hurricane Ike weeks after it tore through Texas.

Clemens and his family have about 20 trees down in the yard and flooding in the den, and Sunday's broadcast didn't lift any spirits in the battered household, Wild said.

Yesterday, Clemens headed to Florida, where his son, Koby, is in an instructional league for the Houston Astros.

Wild said Roger has helped out around Houston as the city recovers from the hurricane.

She believes his claim that he never used steroids.

Im dropping this too.

even though Naples is as much of a f***ing dump as the bronx is...OK i had to being 1/2 a greaser myself i couldnt resist....

Theyve had a miserable time with the garbage removal being ignored for 18 months now...Same as here, the goombahs run the trash removal business over there and when they want it stopped it stops, the streets are overflowing with rotting garbage and its become a real health issue.

Enjoy the last week of the season,it will get better for you guys come next spring.

Yo seano-

Unfortunately I can't make it. I sold my sox tix for sunday too. Hard times up here. I got the shaft on my education reimbursement so now I'm forking over MAJOR dollars on it. They tax everything over 5,250 as income so now my 7,300 check comes back to me as 4,300. I needed the cash on the sox tix. I'm not happy about it...

I was really looking forward to making it down too. I didnt get to a single game all season.

I've lived in NY most of my life and that neighborhood is a blight on the city, pure and simple.

How so? I traveled 7 hours to take in a stadium that is filled with tons of history, and was sadly disappointed by the crowd, the people, and the surroundings. How is that pathetic?

The only time anyone even moved their hands for applause was when Brett Gardner robbed a home run from over the wall.

Come on...the Yankees are out of it. Most of those fans are season ticket holders, and they go to have fun, not watch the game. They are hanging out with friends since the game doesn't mean a thing. Now if the Yankees are in a race, it would be different.

All I did was check out different views to take pics with, hang out with my friends, and recollect memories. I didn't even know the final score when I got home.

Why does it matter where the Red Sox were 2 seasons ago in this context? You're stretching to get a shot at the Sox. I can tell you that the Sox weren't even fighting to stay out of 4th place...

Posted
Yeah but that's only because Baltimore was so bad. They were still 11 games out and finished third, as we probably will. And what's wrong with me pointing out your team missing the playoffs when he's gonna throw it in my face that we wont be playing postseason baseball this year? C'mon now.

The cost of building a new stadium for the Yankees outweights the benefit of it, from a public perspective. It's not even remotely close.

If you like Ron Paul, read John Stossel's column about taxpayer subsidizes and building ballparks. Government has no business helping a billionare build his stadium. Steinbrenner can raise that money by himself.

I must say, with very few exceptions, you guys that posted on this thread have shown about the lowest form of class I've ever seen on Talksox. I'm disappointed in you guys.

This would be equivalent to Yankee fans trashing Fenway when/if it closes. Or Boston Garden. Sad.

Boston Garden is closed, and didn't have any of the pomp and circumstance that Yankee Stadium did.

Steinbrenner said he examined the area for a possible site' date=' that's as far as he got.[/quote']

He threatened to leave. It happens all the time. The Jets and Giants followed through with it.

Name me the last Stadium that didn't get public funding.

Trust me, I'm not disputing any of that. I'm just stating the reason for the new ballpark, and that mostof the business within a block or 2 of the Stadium get most of their business from people going to the games. Sure, this hurts the public, that's not up for debate.

This is true for pretty much every park/stadium.

I don't think ANY stadiums should be funded.

I don't get you guys are defending such illogical viewpoints, by pointing out that other teams do it. Pac Bell Park is privately subsidized.
