Do these return guys realize that when you reverse field that often, it's pretty much a sure shot that your team is getting a bad block call?

Romo gets away with another sexy Rexy throw.

That punt by McBriar was incredible.

On Fox this morning they were ranking the top young QB's, and everybody had Romo ahead of Cutler. I understand Romo's had the better stats, and more wins, but would anybody in their right mind really take Romo ahead of Cutler?

How in the f*** do you call that on one side?

The Cowboys are like the Yankees when it comes to the phantom call.

Not me. I'd take Rodgers over him too.

If Big Ben is out for an extended period of time, Pittsburgh is done.

The Statuesque Byron Leftwich (slow release and all) + That terrible Steelers O-Line = Disaster for the Steelers.

Matt Millen should be publically executed in Detroit.

He is the guy who bad mouthed Joe Paterno when he played at Oakland and his most notable hit in the pros came when he attacked Patrick Sullivan at the end of the Patriot Raider game back in 1985 when the wild card Patriots smoked the Raiders and Patty boy decided he would discuss what he thought of Howie Long after the game and on the field...Millen swung his helmet at Sully and it was his best hit of the day...

How can you draft so high for so long, have all the cash you need to spend at your disposal and still suck?

ask millen

he accomplished this.

The Lions have some players but they need to start again from scratch, build a defense 1st,find a running game and use these talented wideouts that they have...Teams in the NFL can turn it around faster than all the other sports because of the salary cap..The NBA has the draft where 1 man can make that much of a difference, baseball is harder to go from bottom to top but the Rays pulled that off this year but had a lot of the pieces already together...The Lions arent that far away yet they have 1 playoff win in my lifetime that i can recall...43 years and 1 playoff game i remember them winning..

Thats f***ing putrid.

Jay Cutler is coming into his own and Denver is playing well, they need a running game which is something that theyve usually had since shanahan took over, their run block schemes are unique if not a tad dirty, lots of weapons and i think they could go to the dance in february.

Tony Romo is great, has a ton of weapons but he hasnt won anything yet,if he doesnt win this year it may never happen, owens and the salary cap issues will get them eventually.

Aaron Rogers is going to be great, there will be growing pains i suspect but he is playing very well and i expect him to get better as the year goes on,this team could be the team to beat come december if they stay healthy.

Yeah, they took the training wheels off of the offense this year and Cutler's thriving. They're 7th in the league in rushing average, so they can run, it's just that their offense isn't based on it anymore. The defense is terrible, though -- then again, they won't be playing an offense like SD or NO every week.

Defensively they are soft but that can change over the year.

they wont be seeing the patriots with brady and they wont be seeing indi cause i think theyre finished without home field in the playoffs...I cant see indi going to colorado outside in january and winning.

Yeah, we'll see. I hope the defense gets a bit better.

If they can win 2 of 3 out of Tampa Bay, Jacksonville, and New England -- which is a realistic possibility, they'll be 6-1 heading into their bye (with a win next week against KC assumed, that is). After the bye, they have Miami, Cleveland, Atlanta, Oakland, the Jets, and Kansas City -- all very winnable games. So they could win 11 or 12 games pretty easily since their schedule is pretty weak.

edit: Speaking of the Broncos defense -- on ESPN it mentions how they're trying to implement a 3-4, and how they have the type of players that can be successful, it's just a matter of the players getting more comfortable in their roles.

I just heard tony kornheiser defend matt millen on PTI.

Sorry kids,im going to cut off my ear as i have now heard all the ******** i can tolerate for a lifetime.

Denvers gotta have home field if they want to move on.

its their history in a nutshell, they can win the afc with homefield,if they dont get it then its likely they watch the superbowl at home.

is buff or jax legit enuff to k.o one of the former elite clubs like indi the pats or pitt?

lots of questions and i still think the pats will have something to say about this come december

It's in their history? How so? The loss to Pittsburgh in the AFC Championship game a few years back was at home. The '97 team won in Kansas City in the second round and then Pittsburgh in the AFC Championship game on their way to the Super Bowl. The drive happened in Cleveland. Not trying to be argumentative, just trying to see what makes you say that.

This Broncos team isn't going to win the AFC regardless. Even if this defense gets better, I don't see it happening. But the core of that offense is very young -- Cutler, Scheffler, Marshall, and Royal (plus, plug in whatever RB over time) -- and if they can improve the defense they have a shot in the next few years.

Living out of market, this game for the Redskins against the Cowboys has been my first opportunity to see them since opening week against the Giants. I was reluctant to praise Campbell's efforts the last two weeks because, a) I hadn't seen him and B) the Cardinals and Saints aren't very good defensively. He's definitely looking a lot better. His reads are sharper, quicker and he's getting the ball to the receivers where they can do something with it afterwards, which is pure WC offense. Now, some of this may be the Cowboy defense, a unit I feel is overrated. They are decent against the run, and they get good pressure, but if you pick it up, they suck in coverage. Overall, I'm optimistic.

And, holy s***, is this division tough.

Yeah, LJ went retro on them. 198 and 2. Although, he's backed up his request for more touches on the field. Since he went off on the playcalling, he's gone for 325+ and 3 in 2 games. That's excellent, even against bad NFL defenses.

Tampa Bay got a big win today over Green Bay 30-21. The Packers actually led 21-20 with 2:30 to play, but the Bucs got a FG and picked off Aaron Rodgers and scored a few plays later.

Tampa's kicker Matt Bryant should be the player of the week given the circumstances. He lost his 3 month old son on Wednesday, and flew back last night to play the game today. He went on to kick 3 field goals. I can't even imagine being in his situation but that is really courageous. I saw him crying a little bit during the game.

Campbell still can't throw a good deep ball. That's 6 if he doesn't make Moss run through the sand at the end of that route.

had buffalo -9, washington +10.5, and oakland +9 in a nice parlay

thanks LT, way to ruin my day, all you had to do was run down the clock, and i was breaking the bank..

oakland doesnt cover by 1 point on a 41 yard run when SD was tyrin to run the clock out... f*** my life

Not going to beat anybody with four turnovers. Defense actually played decent for the majority of the game, but when they needed a stop, they couldn't get it.

Aside from Praeter being a somewhat decent kicker (30 yard shank today aside), the Broncos have to have, by far, the worst special teams in the league. Just getting the ball back to the 20 on a kickoff is a great return for Denver, and it's been that way for years, unfortunately. Meanwhile, on the other side of things, you just hold your breath and hope the other team doesn't break one, which happens a lot more often than it should.

Broncos had chances to pull away early, but the Marshall fumble went from driving to take a potential 14-6 lead to trailing 13-7. Broncos are lucky they have an easy schedule, because that's the only reason they may potentially make the playoffs.

Is Royal returning punts/kicks? He did last year for VT' date=' and he was pretty good at it IIRC.[/quote']

He's returning punts, if I remember correctly (hard to say since the Broncos don't ever force any punts). He was supposed to be the kick returner until his role in the offense increased, now I think it's backup RB Andre Hall and some #10 kid (who actually got carted off on a stretcher in yesterdays game). The issue is these guys are getting hit at, or before, the 20 yard line every time -- I think Shanahan needs to spend some more time on special teams in practice because it's a s***** way to lose football games. Like yesterday, they get it to within one score, and on the kick return, kid goes untouched straight up the field to the 50.
