Actually the stats are relevant. While yes Wakefield has struggled against the Yankees in recent years, it showed that bulk of the damage has happened at Fenway Park

Last year it was Torre's fault, now it's Cashman's, and every year it's arod's fault...rock. It all sounds the same, just move player's and team's names around and it sounds even similar.
