I don't know what you guys are worried about. You're a shoo-in for the post season now that we've collapsed.

Their collapse notwithstanding, the yankees still have a chance to impact the post-season via head-to-head games with the playoff contenders.

Some might argue that this is the only way the yankees were involved in the playoff scenario at all in 2008. :dunno:

If ever there was a sign of the Apocalypse for the Sox, this is it. We were going to finish 3rd in the East last year, lead wire to wire and won the WS. We were going to get caught by the Yankees last year (LOL, he loves it!), didn't happen. Now we are shoo-in. Translation: October tee times for the Sox players.

I dont see how we're a shoo-in when whoever doesnt win the central could easily take the wild card

Gom is just proving that Yankee fans now are how Red Sox fans were pre-2004, it really is quite an interesting phenomenon when you look at it

Jeter is playing golf right now. So are we?

Doesn't sound as good.

No, not really. We didn't go 86 years without winning and always lose to the Red Sox. It's just that this team isn't assembled right, and we can only win a series when we are at home against teams like the Royals.

You know, I am not pulling a Hank Steinbrenner here, but a healthy Joba and Wang might have made this a very interesting race. This is like you guys losing Beckett and Lester during the course of the year. Hard to go anywhere.

I have little doubt that the Yankees will shore up their pitching this off-season, but considering we have a brutal schedule, mostly on the road, and are 5 games back with 6 weeks to play, it's not looking good.

Dude, we lost Schilling for the year (you got something out of Wang and Joba) and we lost Ortiz for a month. You also have $70 million+ on your payroll. You can shoulder these injuries.

Plus the fact Mike f***ing Mussina has won 16 games this season.

Right because Gom represents all Yankee fans...

Kilo, you're too sharp to do the payroll thing.

The Yankees were not setup to take the injuries that we took. Your FO understood the age thing better, and losing Schilling was a given. If Wang was hurt before spring training, it's easier to compensate than during the season.
