Hello. Most of you probably have a good idea of who I am by now, a 16 year old from New Jersey who has loved the Red Sox all his life. I'm not entirely sure but I think I want to move to Massachusetts when I grow older, in Boston or the surrounding area if not. I dream of one day having season tickets.

Now my question for you those getting to already live in the area is, just how many people have this same dream? Is the waiting list forever? Will I ever get season tickets? Worst case scenario, I have seen football teams' season tickets being sold on eBay. Now I know, (or at least I think) the is entirely frowned upon by the franchises, but you gotta do what you gotta do, I think.

Any insight available here is much appreciated, thanks.

I have a nephew who is a luxury box owner for the NY Mets. I have gotten to know his host very well as my nephew has invited me to several Met sponsored functions. The Met host has a close friend who works with the Red Sox. He told me that he would put in a word with his friend if I wanted season tickets. He did, but nothing could be done. You need to know someone very high up the food chain for the Sox to make an exception. Of course you are very young and they are bound to suck again at sometime during your adult years and things will loosen up then.

I'd like to try and get them another way rather than waiting for them to suck though.

So basically my only hope of not waiting is meeting someone up there?

Just to make a minor clarification, you aren't buying season tickets. You are buying a season's worth of tickets. Usually, you're screwed for the play-offs ( unless you got them from a close friend or family member ). The next year, the renewal will go to the original season ticket holder. Another minor point is that any games that are cancelled ( and not played ) are refunded to season ticket account, not to the ticket holder.

Ah, yeah, makes sense I guess. Well I suppose it's better than nothing, but still. I guess I'll have to get lucky at some point in the future.

Oh man, good luck with that. I suggest, if you have any connections to someone with season tickets who has a group, try to join that. My dad is a part of a season ticket group and we get 10 games a year. It's not season tickets but it's pretty damn awesome.

Sounds very interesting. No hope in joining the official list?

If anyone knows someone with one of these season ticket groups, or has 2 season tickets they're willing to unload for a few weekday summer games, let me know. PM me I suppose.
