yup he's on pace to make 48 at this rate

I never though anyone can touch Renteria's record - Lugo might just do it.

Dang... you'd have to be hitting like Ted Williams to make up for that kind of ineptitude. Let's see -- I don't have the stats right in front of me... could someone check and see if Lugo is hitting like Ted Williams?

Regarding the Lugo for Cabrera deal. Think my big bro was having fond memories of 2004. But we won with Lugo last year.

I agree it's mental at this point since they are routine plays for the most part. He really needs to get more RBI tonight to make up for that crap.

I hope he comes out of it. He's face pure hell once back at Fenway if he keeps this up.

GO MIKEY!

I hate watching them play in this shithole. They play like ass the majority of the time.

lester needs to get ahead of hitters ' date=' out of the 15 batters he's faced only 3 of them he got ahead in the count[/quote']

This is very true. Although tonight he has done a good job not walking anyone

I wonder how many runs Lugo has cost us allready this year?

2 tonight and 2 the other night and god knows how many more

Not sure about the runs, but he cost us the Detroit loss. Losses concern me more than runs. It's horrible to watch either way though.

I meant the Lugo for Cabrera idea.

Ah, thanks.

FWIW, while Lugo has 11 errors, the average AL SS has around four. It's a difference of, essentially, seven singles, and Lugo less seven singles would still be batting adequately for a shortstop.

Maybe not an eight million dollar shortstop...

...but he's not doing the damage that it seems.

And, to be fair, Ellsbury has cost two defensive runs tonight as well. If one believes in the predetermined outcome, the Morneau RBI ground-out in the 1st is a likely double play if Mauer is held at first.

Bonser's luck continues.

Are we leading the Majors in runners LOB?

I was about to ask the same thing myself. Given that we've scored (IIRC) the 2nd most runs in the majors, I doubt it -- we do drive guys in. But I'll leave it to the stats guys to provide the real answer.

22nd at 7.7

Minny is first at 6.1

The Yankees are at 12 at 7.1

Cubs are the worst at 8.9

How does one walk Adam Everett?

All that is required is a sufficient number of pitches judged to be outside the strike zone. Oh... that's not what you were asking...
