Scouting Report:

Rangers: The Red Sox will get a firsthand look at what they gave up when they sent Mendoza to the Rangers on July 30, 2006. Mendoza was signed by Boston as a free agent out of Mexico on June 12, 2000. He lost his first start of the season to the Blue Jays on Saturday, when he allowed four runs in five innings. Three of the runs were unearned.

Red Sox: The Red Sox have won all four of Matsuzaka's starts. However, he is the first to admit that he doesn't deserve the credit for his last win, which came over five shaky innings against the Yankees. Matsuzaka threw 116 pitches, walked six and struck out two. He allowed five hits and four runs. Matsuzaka pitched just once against the Rangers last season, getting the win despite giving up seven hits and five runs over five innings. In that one, Matsuzaka pitched through an extreme case of the flu, which made the performance a heroic one in the eyes of manager Terry Francona and his teammates.

I won't be on tomorrow night, I have a game, that's right Thumper has a game. A rehab tryout to see if my ankle (and arm now) are good enough to get me back into the game (ho ho Thumper Triple-A Lulz). No, Double-A now for an independent league here in New Orleans. So anyway, the BoneyTek, Beckett Blop s*** aside, here's the info for the next game.

Keeping with the "say something derogatory about the opposing team's player(s) theme in a limerick" which worked well last night:

There once was a shortstop named Young,

Like a field mouse this player was hung,

He could take on a butt,

tell he busted a nut,

without ever coming close to the dung;

holy crap, that's kinda sick and twisted, I know, but I'll let it sit.

He's more frustrating to watch than Wake and Lester combined. Wake you can rationalize with the knuckleball, Lester never had control. Dice has it, but something happens to make him lose it from time to time. Don't know if it's lack of focus, or what, but it pisses me off because I get teased with what could be.

I have seen enough of Lowris ( meaning 1 play) to proclaim he is better than Lugo.

A empty position at shortstop may be better than Lugo at this point.

Jason Varitek doubles (5) on a line drive to shortstop Michael Young

someone want to explain that?

It was a wall ball double where Murphy got caught back at the wall and the ball rebounded toward the IF and Young came out to play the ball.

Off the monster. Murphy misplayed it by being too close to the wall and it almost rolled all the way back into the infield.

Im torn about the Yanks-Os game. I want the Yankees to lose, but I also want the reins tonight. I guess sex is sex no matter what, but it's still more fun having the wheel. Always a tough choice when they play New York.
