I realize they are tired after the travel and all, but letting Lugo swing the bat here scores a -14 on the "Doing s*** that Makes Sense Scale". You have a righty closer who is tough on righties and a lefty bat with more power sitting on the bench. One swing of the bat ties the game. At least try it.

I find it funny. Sox fans were laughing about using Japan as an excuse for our awful start in 2004. But the sox right now look dead. If it wasnt for facing one of the worst teams in the game for the first 4 games, you might be even further behind the 8 ball.

Beckett threw hard but couldnt locate today. Rust most likely. Seeing as he missed a good amt of time' date=' he shouldnt be judged until May[/quote']

Beckett located well in the first three innings, but fell apart after that.

You are absolutely right, we would be behind the 8-ball. This far into the season, we can't afford to be this slow. It's all over now. Behind the 8-ball means 'in real trouble', right? We are SCREWED!

Oh, wait. We've only played seven games.

A 3-4 record on April 6th puts us behind the 8-ball? Hey the Baltimore Orioles are in 1st place....we should all be nervous. How many times do I need to tell you it's April...APRIL...April OK? Good.

Yeah, they really suck. It's a good thing they got such a cupcake after us to win a series.

Game 1

Game 2

Game 3

Not to mention we faced their top 2 pitchers 4 times with our ace accumulating rust.

I never gave the Yankees a hard time about opening the season out West. I've made the trip from the East Coast to Hawaii, and Hawaii to Japan about 8 times. I know what a pain in the ass it is to adjust to 6 and 7 hour time changes. It takes over a week for your body to adjust, and that is if you are really trying to get it to do that. I hope this series over there was the last series over there.

it took a month before we got back to normal. That season, you guys started poorly too. Once we kicked it up, we were solid until the end of the yr.

Amen to that.

Plus Beckett did have to throw more than he had to while working around 3 errors. Considering this is the first time he has faced major league hitters (college, minor league teams in ST), he wasnt that bad at all.
