26 to 6, are you serious?

You want ....

Griffey Jr. and Mark Reynolds

for

Luis Castillo and Willy Tavarez?

Needless to say, that is an insulting offer. However, in the spirit of fantasy sports, I countered with what I think is a fair deal that includes Reynolds.

Are you kidding me? You're lacking depth at second behind Uggla, and I'm lacking depth at third. Behind Uggla, Castillo can put up a good OBP and although he hasn't gotten off to the best start Tavarez will give you steals and his bat is bound to heat up. The rankings on both sides add up to 407 and 406 for you and I, respectively. You're insulted by a 1 point edge? Get over yourself. You have A-Rod so I figured it would be reasonable to think you could spare Reynolds (How did the commish end up with A-Rod anyway, did you fix the draft order or something? Also, since you so freely accuse A-Rod of steroid use in the other thread, why do you have him, does that make you a cheater in your book?). As for your "fair deal," Let me shout that out, since you have no sense of respect and freely shout out offers made by others, which to me is a breach of ethics. Mark Reynolds, Joe Saunders, and Kurt Suzuki for Martin, McLouth, and Papelbon!? Have you been drinking this morning, Red?

Those rankings are meaningless. They are the Yahoo fantasy rankings based on the standard 5x5 scoring categories from last year. We are using different categories and it's a different year.

I'm not short of depth at 2B, as with a 21 man roster, it is not a position worthy of carrying a backup unless you have a multi-position player who has 2B as an option. Castillo is worthless to me. Tavarez wouldn't get playing time on my roster because he sucks relative to the OFs I have.

As for posting the details of your trade proposal, I don't normally do that. Then again, I don't normally get such fantasically one sided offers. I figured it worthy of ridicule.

I'm content keeping the players I offered. In the format we are playing, with the stats we are using, and considering what you would expect from those players for "this" season, I see this trade as beneficial for both sides. You lose something at C and RP (your only position of quality depth), and gain a quality SP and mashing corner IF (look at Reynolds MiLB stats at thebaseballcube.com). Gotta give to get.

As for the insinuation that I somehow cheated to get the #1 pick and the equally assanine suggestion that I shouldn't have ARod because of the other thread, this is further proof of your abject small mindedness. Yahoo determines the draft order 30 minutes prior to draft time, and that setting never changed. Had it, there would have been a note on the transactions history of the league. Yahoo has all commissioner setting changes displayed. Kind of like a "government in the sunshine" type of thing. Furthermore, I missed the draft due to a family obligation that came up - and I didn't even prerank. I've had to shuffle quite a bit to recover from how horribly Yahoo autodrafts based on those s***** rankings. Why would I cheat and then not take full advantage of it? Nitwit.

I don't care if someone is using PEDs. I wanted to draft Bonds last year in our league but Crespo beat me to it. And, I didn't state any of my suspicions about ARod. I just defended the legitimacy of anyone's suspicions on the issue in that thread. There is a difference there that you appear to unable to grasp. But that's not surprising.

I'm aware of Reynolds' minor league stats, sorta why i wanted to get my hands on him

I don't seriously think you altered the order, but if you're going to give me s*** then I'm going to give you s***. The way negotiating usually works is I aim high and await your counter. You had no interest in ofering a serious counter-proposal, which is fine. I move on. Did I seriously expect to get Griffey and Reynolds for that, absolutely not, but I have to start somewhere.

And to say those rankings are meaningless is a little redundant, I think. Obviously they're nt the be all, end all definitive rankings that tell you just how good a player is, but they give you an idea relative to other players at that position. If I thought that was the case and the rankings were absolutely legit, Livan Hernandez, ranked over 600, wouldnt be my 3rd starter. You have to at least consider them when making moves though. If you have any interest in talking Reynolds, then feel free to make me a reasonable offer, or one that is at least semi-serious, and we can take it from there. If not, peace!

What kind of lame cop out is this? Where did I challenge your integrity?

I took exception to you divulging the terms of my offer, which set me in a fury and caused me to take a shot at you. That's usually how it works

My offer was dead serious. Your roster is speed heavy and deficient of patience an pop on the offensive side. You are RP heavy in pitching. If I'm making you more balanced and better, I expect to improve too.

No, that's not how it works. You don't challenge someone's integrity because they think you are stupid. Not unless you actually are.

You must be the stupid one if that offer you made was actually a serious one. Either that or you're on some series drugs, in which case you really are an idiot. Joe Saunders, Mark Reynolds, and KURT SUZUKI!? You have got to be kidding me if you consider Russell Martin, McClouth (who has been realllll good) and Papelbon an even trade. Let me make a note to make sure I do no trading with you the rest of the season.

In the minors...
Player|Age|G|SB|OBP|SLG

KURT SUZUKI!|24|314|10|.380|.419

Russell Martin|25|392|39|.391|.419
Holy s***, he really sucks!!one! The benefit I gain is that Martin has done it for a full year at the MLB level and a little extra speed, something you won't miss. This is no huge downgrade. Martin is the best catcher in the game, but part of that is his defense. Defense doesn't count in fantasy.

McLouth vs. Reynolds

Two of the stats we are using are the original components of Runs Created. OBP * TB = RC. In the minors.....
Player|Age|G|OBP|SLG|AB|TB|RC/G

McLouth|26|570|.367|.427|2096|895|0.58

Reynolds|24|333|.360|.524|1216|637|0.69
The both scored 62 runs last year in about the same amount of playing time. McLouth will steal more bases, something you can afford to lose, but this is offset by Reynolds RBIs. This part of the trade is in your favor.

In exchange for what you gain, you give up some saves for a decent SP. This is not a lopsided trade, no matter how blue you get in the face trying to portray it as such. That said, if you aren't willing to give to get, good luck finding a trading partner.

Minor League numbers don't predict how a player will do in the bigs. How many stud prospects flopped on the Major League lever? I've followed Suzuki since last year, and with this being his first full year of getting most of the playing time I would rather hang onto Martin. You must think I'm stupid, if it were no big deal you wouldnt be trying to pull Martin from me for Suzuki. You know damn well the difference in production that there'll be between the two. And the handful of extra steals Martin might pick up really isn't that big of a deal. Papelbon for Saunders is just ludicrous, I dont care what you tell me, but there is no way I trade Papelbon for a guy who's finished the past two seasons with an ERA over 4.40, no way in hell! He's too valuable. He has gotten off to a nice start, but it would just make absolutely no sense for me to make that move.

You wanna explore McLouth for Reynolds, that works for me. McLouth was my sleeper coming into the season, and with his real nice start I would be reluctant to move him, but if you're willing to do Reynolds for McLouth straight up, I'm game for throwing it around.

I think Reynolds will have more fantasy value than McLouth, so I expect to improve somewhere else. I'll send an offer.

My whole team on the block. Screw it. Haven't made a trade in almost a week, and I think my girl and I are quits. Back to trading.

Why not?

Anyone want a hot Asian girl who absolutely loves sex, has a nice figure [small breasts and a decent ass], wakes you up to a BJ, and can cook?

If only there was a stronger spark....oh well.
