MLB Scouting Report

Red Sox: The 23-year-old Lester was thrust into the World Series rotation because of the injury to Tim Wakefield. Lester had his rookie season of 2006 cut short by anaplastic large cell lymphoma but returned to the Boston rotation on July 23 of this season. Lester went 4-0 with a 4.57 ERA in 12 games, 11 of which were starts. He was at his best down the stretch, going 2-0 with a 3.34 ERA in September. Lester didn't pitch in the American League Division Series. Working out of the bullpen in the ALCS, he went 0-0 with a 4.91 ERA in two outings. This is the first time Lester has pitched at Coors Field. Lester started seven games on the road this season, going 3-0 with a 4.73 ERA. Lester held lefties to a .231 clip this season, while righties hit .267 against him.

Rockies: After more than two months without making a start because of a strained oblique, Cook will make his first start since Aug. 10 in Game 4 of the World Series. The Rockies choose to go with Cook instead of rookie Franklin Morales, who will pitch out of the bullpen. Cook, who was the Rockies' Opening Day starter, had success earlier this season in Boston. The Rockies lost their lone game in Boston when Cook started, but he held the Red Sox to two runs on seven hits in 7 1/3 innings. Cook was at his best this in July, when he went 4-1 with a 2.68 ERA in six starts. His 4.12 ERA was the best among the Rockies starters this season. Cook's ability to get ground-ball outs thanks to his sinker ball is a perfect fit for the Rockies defense, which had the best fielding percentage in Major League history.

Let's do this. And we won't have to hear "I'll be another 86 years." ever again.

As soon as the lineups come out feel free to post it.

Couldn't really find some kick ass Mojo, best I got is some "Just Do It" mojo. Because really the Sox need to just do it.

Well, that takes the Mojo Monkey off my back, but I had just a little something to get the Mojo flowing: http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=16E64F498D9F2516

Get the brooms out, bitches! :D

Now, so as NOT to f*** up the mojo, let's review:

RedSoxRooter - Listen to 3 tunes from I-Tunes Sox mix; Wear your TalkSox T under your gray hoodie; Turn on your Red Sox Bud lamp for at least 5 minutes; Don't forget to post Go Sox!

A700Hitter - It's all about the couch position and bathroom breaks

TedWilliams101 - Have roommate burn the eggs

Ksushi - Don't pee after the first inning

Jabs - Put your youngest to bed!

Silvercreekcc2006 - Don't let the dog lick me until 5th inning; Remember to randomly use Quote button

I should mention that up until yesterday, I made a bowl of popcorn after we scored our first run. I did this in games 6&7 of the ALCS and games 1&2 of the World Series. I couldn't yesterday because I watched the first half of the game at my cousins for my aunt's birthday. So do I do it again tonight since that's what I've done for every game I've been home for, or not do it since they won even without my popcorn mojo?

(Also yesterday was the first time I had shaved since before game 2 of the ALCS. I was forced to because I had senior pictures. Obviously I can't what little facial hair I had back.)

Don't be stupid. Pop the corn! If the sox are behind after the 5th inning, then you MUST draw a mustache on yourself. Deal?

I shaved my entire head last night like I had done during 2004.

I guess. I got a note from SOTKS saying he needed a wingman' date=' but I got on too late. I think the Mojo is good, though.[/quote']

I am not of that belief, but whatever. People need to recognize the rules.

Lowell last night:

“(My legs) try and turn, and if you’re safe you look a little faster than you are,” said Lowell. “I was almost going to pull the base out and say, ‘I’m the greatest.'"

If there are some sort of gamethread rules that I neglected to look at, I sincerely apologize, I didn't see any rules about it, unless it's some sort of unwritten tradition or something, regardless, I'm sorry for upsetting.

Believe me, that will be the ONLY disappointment tonight. We win, and win decisively. Lester coming back from Cancer to win the deciding game, now THAT'S a story.

Go Sox!

I am so pumped right now! We are one frigging win away from a WS title! I can't wait for this to begin, and I really hope we win because I am in the mood for some serious celebration.

Thumper, you've been here how long?

A poster doesn't interrupt a streak of gamethreads unless (a) the team loses or (B) the person whose streak it is hasn't made a GT by gametime.

I've never made a thread to begin with. So I never even knew about that rule. Now that I know it, it won't happen again. Just hope I don't piss off SOTK.

No Youk. I'm surprised.

He might come in during later innings. Or if Papi's struggling bad enough.

I suppose to keep the Left/Right theory going, Ortiz starts.

Seemed to work out OK last night. We just need to get the bats going early so that we can make the D changes later in the game. What's everyone think Lester is going to do?

6 innings 2 runs 5 hits, 2 walks 7 strikeouts.

I think Lester's got it for a sufficiant start. I say he goes 6 giving up a run on five hits.

Also, the FOX World Series history intro REALLY annoys the f*** out of me.
