So wait....wait...wait...

What does that make Clemens over the last 3 or 4 years, of which the Yankees signing of him was a great move?

I said before that he would be a high 3's pitcher, which he was until he hurt himself. I never expected him to continue what he did in the NL, only that he might continue what he did in the AL.

I dunno, but I think he just admited that the Yanks got beat by a JV team in 2003.

And Beckett's run in Florida means about as much as Pavano's and Clement's. Nothing. The NL is the JV league until proven otherwise.

WTF are you talking about? He handed you guys your ass on a platter.

On a serious note....this is why I feel winning the division is so big. I'm shocked the Yanks lost this series, and shocked Paul Byrd was able to beat Chien Ming Wang to do it.

The playoffs are a crapshoot....but being the best team over 162 games means something.

Isn't a high 3's pitcher in the AL an "ace"?

I didnt expect him to be a low 2's guy like he was in the NL. I thought he would be a #3, kinda like what Wang turned out to be. A guy who could do very well over a full season, but not necessarily your first choice to pitch a playoff game.

No Yankee fan noticed the Jeter Giggles. Hmmm. What did my Sox fan brethren think about it. I thought it was really out of character in a game where the Yanks were facing elimination.

So did Pavano that season. And you dont see me clamoring for him to be our ace. Wait...

Pavano in '03? His ERA+ was 92.

12-13 with a 4.30 ERA

So let me get this straight.

CMW as a #3 > Josh Beckett as a #1

Maybe you're starting to swing the other way.

You arent following me. People have many definitions of an ace. One definition is that they can lead a pitching staff, which both Beckett and CMW have done effectively. In that breath, both are aces.

But to take it one step futher, an ace is a guy you can throw out there in a must win and feel pretty good about taking that game. Beckett fits that bill right now, while Wang obviously does not.

I guess Giggling is just one of the many intangibles that he brings to the table. Like I said before. Manny would have been dissected like a lab animal if he had done that.

Aren't aces supposed to win big games like Whitey Ford, Ron Guidry, Josh Beckett* and Curt Schilling*?

You don't understand what it's like to be a Sox fan. For f***ing YEARS we've been s*** on by you guys. The fact that we're playing in October while the Yanks are golfing, once again, is s*** that will totally be thrown back in your direction (as it was thrown in our faces many times when the situations were reversed).

Yes. No way for them to understand. Fans since 96'. In the grand scheme none of us should care this much. It makes no sense. On any kind of intellectual level. It just makes sense on a visceral level for the romantics and if you're a baseball fan...you're a romantic. Yeah..yeah. No guy I'm sure wants to hear that, but honestly it's true. Passionate to the extreme because we have this ordeal that we undergo. Year after year. Game after game for the long haul...and you just never know until the last out. No other game can profess that truism.

These puppies are just having a new york state of mind kinda minute....they need some suffering and some girl to tell them that yes...they are faking orgasm and here's how to do it correctly and grow up and fall in love and actually have some kind of adversity like uh oh I only have 5 bucks in the bank and the rent is due and how do I get out of this without mom and dad bailing me out.

And, as improbable as it is. As, entirely nonsensical as it is....I love this game because it's just simply life. If you pay attention. Mostly in it's quiet moments if the announcers would just shut up.

Great Post!!:D

I must say...we sucked. We had our chances, and we blew it. The stadium tried to get into the game, but how many times can we get amped up and not get that clutch hit.

Believe it or not, I was more upset after the game 2 loss than the series loss. We just were behind the 8 ball and couldn't get out of it. Oh well.

I haven't missed a playoff game since 2002, and I'm getting tired of getting my post-season refund. At least Torre is done. What a loser.

i hate her

and i hate the way they present her as if she knew something relevant about baseball

her clemens intro back in may couldve gagged a maggot and it will be shown in boston arenas for all eternity followed by his limping off the mound in game 2

anyone notice the cemetary flowers seem to have gotten a life of their own overnight??

just a reminder that God is looking down with a smile this day
