September stats"
Pitcher|W-L|ERA|IP|K|K/9|BB|BB/9|WHIP|

Curt Schilling|1-2|3.16|25.2|15|5.26|2|0.70|1.05

Andy Pettite|3-2|5.86|35.1|21|5.34|12|3.06|1.78
And you can go home, where you play better, happy with a split? Really?

Yes. Mainly because Pettitte will have pitched game two. Did you parents have any children that lived?

No, Gom, all my parent's kids are dead.

Let me make this simple for you.

If you go to NYY with a split, you have taken HFA.

If we go to ANA with a split, they have taken HFA.

So when you say you'd feel better with a split than we would, isn't that basic common sense?

Of course. But why did you put up Schilling and Pettitte's numbers? Pettitte goes in game 2, Schilling in game 3. How does that make any sense?

Becuase you said after Beckett the talent of the Sox staff drops off.

Schilling has pitched better than Pettite over the last month.

Dice-K and your #3 (whoever it is) have serious question marks.

The differences in the staffs are not far off.

Cleveland is the only team with the truly dominant staff.

I would take Pettitte, Clemens, and Mussina over Matsuzaka, Schilling, and Lester in the playoffs any day of the week.

Lester isn't in our rotation' date=' Beckett is Game 4. So wouldn't it be Pettitte, Clemens, Mussina vs. Matsuzaka, Schilling, Beckett?[/quote']

You'd have to put in Wang.

The question is:

Beckett, DiceK, Schilling

or

Wang, Pettitte, Clemens/Mussina

I think Beckett > Wang, Pettitte > Schilling (by the slimmest of margins, and Schilling has pitched better lately), and I feel DiceK vs. Mussina/Clemens is a push.

My point is the talent levels of the two staffs are not terribly different, unlike Gom said

With the disparity in the skill level between Beckett and the rest of your staff

I feel if there is such a dropoff in talent for us, there exists a comparable one for the Yanks.

This is all subjective anyways.

I actually think your starting pitching is better, Kilo. I think Schilling and Pettitte are a push. I think Clemens and Matsuzaka are a push, but Mussina is plain garbage, and I put Lester ahead of him. I think Beckett is better this season than Wang.

How nervous are you guys right now? My nerves are shot already, and we don't play until tomorrow.

Haha, I'm kinda nervous just because it'd be real nice to win tonight.

I've actually been more nervous for the Rockies than I have been for the Red Sox.

... but that doesn't mean I'm not very nervous.

Go Halos! LOL!

I knew you were an Angels fan!

Sox just need to take it 1 game at a time. Win, Win, Win. And off to the Pennant we go.

I'm so amped I don't even hate you right now.

Lets go Red Sox. Seriously' date=' the Angels are the only team IMO that has an absolute advantage over us.[/quote']

Shhhhhhhhhhhhh

I'd be real worried about Sabathia and Carmona

I head in WEEI that Garrett Anderson will not play. Time for Beckett to be the pitching stud he can be. I'm looking for big hits from Ortiz and yes' date=' JD Drew.[/quote']

garrett anderson is in the lineup

Gotta love six straight fastballs to open it up....nice job Tek.

I think it's probably the strategy they've discussed. Try to show the other hitters as little as possible over the first couple of innings, and then mix in the offspeed stuff.

If he gets through the order the first time with mostly fastballs, he should be golden for the rest of the night.

That's an awful strategy.

I disagree. If you have a good enough fastball where you can locate, then it's a really good strategy in my opinion. I think that strikeout of Anderson is the perfect example. He had thrown nothing but fastballs, before the strikeout pitch, and it only made the breaking ball more effective.
