f***ing cheating bastards. That's why they couldn't cover Randy Moss or tackle Maroney.

Seriously though, that's pretty cheap. I wouldn't put it past Belichick to pull something like that.

Even after reading the article, doesn't make much sense HOW they cheated, so they saw the signals they were giving out in plain view, except they had it on video. Unless the radio frequency had something to do with listening in, there's not much here.

NFL wouldn't be investigating it if there "wasn't much here", and certainly not if it wasn't against the rules. It's a lot more difficult to figure these signals out in real time than it is to do so in review. Besides, they play the Jets at least one more time, so it may have been done so they can look over, and figure out, these signals before their next game against one another. I know it's your favorite team and all... but come on..

That's the only way I can figure that would seem like substantial cheating. Plus it's the obviousness of how they were caught again that puzzles me, if they did the same exact thing in Lambeau, why would they sue the SAME exact guy and method, which would obviously be seen by the Jets?

Seriously I bet stuff like this happens all the time, the Pats unfortuantely have gotten caught twice now. We still would have blown out the jets anyways so it doesn't really bother me what so ever.

I still think the Pats would have won either way, but this is still unnessisary for the game. The Pats are played out year in and year out to be such a classy team, and everyone plays for the team and all that, and then they get caught on several occasions useing video and audio devises to find out what the Jets are doing in their defensive scheme even if for like the next game like See Red said. But becuase its the Patriots, fans and anylists will just pass this like it wasnt anything, and we'll hear statements like the post above mine, tryin to push off while taking a shot at another team [true statement....but nonetheless].

Im not saying the Jets lost because of this, becuase when you give up a 108 yrd kickoff return TD, your going to lose, but Im just sick of the Patriots being made out as Americas team, but when they do things like this, people just close their eyes, and then open them up to see Tom Brady signing autographs for young fans.

lolololol the f***ers are in trouble.....

NFL security officials confiscated a camera and videotape from Patriots video assistant Matt Estrella on the New England sidelines when it was suspected he was recording the Jets' defensive signals. Sources say the visual evidence confirmed the suspicion.

Goodell is considering severe sanctions, including the possibility of docking the Patriots "multiple draft picks" because it is the competitive violation in the wake of a stern warning to all teams since he became commissioner, the sources said. The Patriots have been suspected in previous incidents.

The Patriots will be allowed an opportunity to present their case by Friday, sources said, most likely via the telephone.

Class out the ass...

Sportsnation poll overwhelmingly supports the Pats being forced to forfeit the game. Every state outside of New England was a 'yellow state' in the poll. I found that pretty amusing.

I hope the league does come down hard on them for this. This s*** can't be allowed to happen.

The Jets cant take away the game from the Patriots. The draft picks sure. Even then, belichick wont be crying in his pillow over. He's said before that Draft day is something he has to do, not something he looks forwrad to. Free agency is his game

Like other fans this isnt something I dont condone. But seeing hand signals (whose to say they saw them during the game) helped them rout 38-14? It helped Moss beat triple coverage and Hobbs set his NFL record return?

Obviously they're not going to take the game away from them, I just found it interesting that every state in the poll was in favor of it. I didn't even think New York would vote that way.

The signs didn't change the fact that Moss was a freak of nature and the poor special teams coverage, but maybe some of those calls at the LOS by Brady would have been different. I mean last year in New England, they confused the hell out of Brady and really put him on his ass. Sunday they had absolutely no pressure on him all game. I think there has to be some correlation, even if it's slight. If it didn't make a difference why would they consistently have this guy filming?

like YanksHater213 said cheating is cheating ' date=' it may have not affected the outcome of that game but it could have ....[/quote']

It probably wouldn't have, but now that it's pretty evident that they cheated, I'm really pissed about this. I'll wait until we get to see what the team says to defend itself, but I'm really heated about this.

rsr, I was just waiting until something more conclusive came forward until I chimed in. I know they still most likely cheated, which is ******** in every form here (I'm not going to sit here and defend them in case you were wondering), but whether they did it or not the Jets just got outplayed in every aspect of the game.

Now, should the Pats be forced to forfeit the game? No, but they definitely deserve a harsh punishment. If the game was a lot closer where it could have made a big difference, then maybe I'd say they should forfeit it.

I said in my post I dont condone them doing it. I wouldve said s*** like "all teams do it" if my intent was to sit and defend them

Any team that violates this rule and is caught should lose their first round pick the following year [that is if it is not already traded]. Make the penalty severe enough, and the rule won't be broken.

Not sure if I sai this before, not only does the cheating on it's own principle upset me, but it's the obviousness of how they got caught, they did the same exact thing they did in Lambeau to a T. The guy even stuck out if you watched the game again, he was wearing dark green and khacki shorts among yellow-vested cameramen and stuck out like a sore thumb, the ace in the hole here is the pats side of the story, i will withhold any judgement until then.

Like I said, they more than likely weren't cheating to benefit the short term, but future matchups against the Jets. If they're going to cheat, they should learn how to do it better. I don't see how anybody's shocked, Belichick seems like the type of coach who'd look for and exploit any advantage he could get, which I think is great if I'm a fan of his team. A bit off topic but speaking of Roger Goodell cracking down... I'd be interested to see if he cracks down on the way the Patriots do their injury reports too.

worse than steroids in terms of competitive balance. The Jets should get a 2nd round and a 5th rounder for this.

Doesn't giving the Jets draft picks, hurt every other team in the NFL? I thought the idea was to punish the offender, not reward the offended.

to be fair' date=' cheating is cheating, but seriously people, would it really have made a difference? probably not.[/quote']

I think some people in Las Vegas beg to differ with ya.

I think a fair punishment would be forfeitureof their 2nd, 4th and 6th round picks along with a $1M fine.

Guy in the Post also had a novel idea. Move the Pats Jets game in Foxboro to Giants stadium. That probably would make more sense than forfeiting the game.
