Steelers DE Aaron Smith is out for the season with a biceps tear, coach Mike Tomlin announced on Tuesday.

Outside of Troy Polamalu, Smith is quite possibly the MVP of Pittsburgh's defense because of his versatility, so it's a brutal loss for the Steelers heading down the closing stretch. Tomlin did not name a replacement, but veteran backups Travis Kirschke and Nick Eason should see additional snaps. Dec. 11 - 12:40 pm et

So... who will the Dolphins draft at #1? Coming into this year, John Beck was their QB for the future but he looked terrible in the little time he saw this year... but there's not a QB available worth the number one pick. They have Ronnie Brown, so they don't need McFadden...

Glen Dorsey? That's who I'd take. And maybe take a chance on someone like Grossman in free agency?

I still cant believe that they passed up on Brady Quinn for Ted Ginn Jr.

Dorsey is who I'd take too. He's a foundation of a defense type player. They could also trade down for extra picks to a team like TB, who I think is a feature back away from being very good.

Any team in the shape Miami is in should trade down to get multiple picks. There is not a 'franchise QB' to take at #1 and build around. (although that usually doesn't work out either) They need a lot of help and trading down would be their best option in my opinion.

Who needs a potential franchise QB when you can have a franchise Special Teamer?

Dorsey's very versatile too... he can DT in a 4-3 and DE in a 3-4.

Have to go Dorsey unless you get an offer to move down that you can't refuse.

... unless they want a backfield of McFadden and Ronnie Brown! Arkansas has shown us that you can get pretty creative when you have two great RB's and one of them is named McFadden. On that note, he can probably throw the ball as well as anyone currently wearing teal and orange. :dunno:

Speaking of Arkansas...

Bobby Petrino has done the smart, yet cowardly, thing and gotten the f*** out of Atlanta to take the job at Arkansas. I know that at least DeAngelo Hall has blasted him for it. His NFL coaching career lasted just 13 games.

some ass clown on board was arguing about the merits of ted ginn jr to me last year as we were featuring reche caldwell.

""the pick we get for deion branch can be used to get a guy like ted ginn jr""

miami needs to move down for a couple of solid picks

when youre winless 1 man wont turn it around, they need an oline and they need some playmakers on defense.

I'm no Parcells fan' date=' but I think he hit the nail right on the head in he pregame. He's another Eric Metcalf or Kevin Faulk. Capable of the big play, but not able to pound it between the tackles 20-25 times a game.[/quote']

Speaking of Reggie Bush...

Has anybody noticed that Mario Williams is becoming something of a stud? 10.5 sacks on the year. I think the Texans may have made the right choice... :dunno:

While they don't take as long as QBs to ripen, linemen take a little time to become studs. I think the same patience will help with Jarvis Moss and Gaines Adams.

Apparently Bush can't hit the hole hard between the tackles, nor carry the majority of the load. I don't blame the Saints for taking him at #2 (because from what we knew and saw about him, he should have gone #1), but apparently the Texans were more right than wrong when all was said and done to take Williams instead.

I always had my doubts about Bush because his biggest advantage in the college game was speed, something that was going to be taken away from him in the pros.

Jacksonville goes into Pittsburgh and wins, 29-22. I have a feeling that this game will be replayed in a few weeks, at the same venue.

Dolphins and Ravens are tied up at 16 IN OVERTIME! Ravens have the ball though.

Baltimore sucks ass. Where's the heart and determination they had when facing the Patriots?

Didn't you get the memo? Teams bend over for teams not names the Pats.

Posted

Whoa, the Pats already played? I guess I've been in the zone studying. I've been sitting at this table for 4 hours.

And I was sincerely hoping that the Dolphins would go defeated.

Posted
Damn...I wanted to see 14-0 vs. 0-14 with the Dolphins trying to defend their best team ever's record with their worst team ever.

Oh, I didn't, because if the Dolphins won that would have been worse than if they win next week.

Chargers are rolling. They played real soft in the beginning of the season... doesn't seem to be the case anymore. LT and Turner could give the Pats some trouble but the secondary and WR's are a real question mark.

By the way... from a half yard out for the win... how does Billick not go for the Touchdown?! What a s***** coach he is.

brian billick, the offensive genious??,had 4th and goal from a foot out,a great running back and against a run defense that i could gain 100 yrds.

he kicked the field goal?

what a douchebag

his job is secured evidently but he has no business being a head coach

without ray lewis and ed reed this franchise wouldnt have won anything

They lost Benburger?

Parker won't be missed that much. They are a lot like Denver, IMO. You can plug and play RBs with their line.
