Atrocious playcalling from Louisville down the stretch....on both offense and defense.

 

Exactly... it was like a f***ing prevent defense in a tie game with two minutes left. When you call plays like you're scared, you get beat.

 

As for the offense... what's up with throwing five to seven yard routes and making your WR's work to get the first? Throw the ball down field. Any situation like that where you end a game with a timeout in your pocket, it's nothing more than terrible coaching.

 

And don't forget that terrible special teams play.

Ohio State and Illinois tied at 14 in the second.

 

I think the Illini, led by Juice Williams, will pull off the upset. They came damn close last year and since then, Ohio State is worse, Illinois is better.

Ballgame... Juice Williams carries the Fighting Illini to the win. Four times on the final drive he rushed for a first down on third or fourth down and he had, I believe, four passing TD's. And now there's a fight at midfield. LSU will be back up to #1.

They have to. They'd be undefeated, and would have beaten the #5 and #6 (as of now, will obviously change) team in the last few weeks of the season. That said, I'm not sure they get past Missouri. And I certainly don't think they get past Oklahoma. What are the odds of Oklahoma leap-frogging Oregon? They probably get the #4 team in the country in the Big XII Championship game... a convincing win could bump them ahead of Oregon.

 

I gotta admit... I hate the BCS but it makes for some great discussion around this time of year.

Illinois just didn't make mistakes. Difficult to beat a team that doesn't do anything to beat themselves. Juice Williams is for real... a lot of room for improvement but he's going to be a real good player one day.

 

I joked after the loss to App State, and then Oregon, that I should bet on Michigan to win the Big Ten because they were better than their play had indicated and I'd get incredible odds... well, they beat OSU and they win the Big Ten. I really wish I'd made that bet, now.

Three separate sources indicate that Carr has made his decision to retire official and people around the athletic department are being told. The formal announcement will come after the Ohio State game, possibly at the Monday press conference, possibly a day or two later.

Oh, and looking at Kansas' schedule... there's really not a single win on it that impresses me. I expect them to get manhandled by Missouri -- I think it'll be their first game against a ranked team all year.

Meh...they beat KSU who was ranked IIRC, and won big games at Colorado (where Oklahoma lost) and Texas A&M.

 

What happens if they beat Mizzou and OU though....do they play for the NC?

I don't think there's any way they are out of the NC game if they win out. They are only .0289 behind Oregon with their current SOS. They play the BCS #4 and #5 to finish. I wouldn't be surprised if they end up the BCS #1 if they run the table.

They're certainly in the National Title game if they win out. I'm just saying they're not one of the better teams in the country. They haven't beaten anyone. They could prove me wrong... but I don't think they will. Winner of the Big XII, assuming they win out, will play for the National Championship.

To be fair, Oregon is easily one of the top 5 teams in the nation when Dixon is healthy...did you not see the whipping they put on Michigan?

 

If Dixon didn't get hurt last night Oregon wins easily.

i saw them run circles around michigan....in ann arbor as well

the week after appalachian state hung 40 on them

 

this year is different

i think the ducks match up very well with most teams and can burn almost everyone in a shoot out and i know their qb is their brain heart and soul

Arizona State is getting manhandled in the desert. USC's putting it to 'em; 44-17 right now. Herring ain't seen more than a crack to run through and they've been completely unable to protect Carpenter, who's actually a pretty tough kid. Down goes one of the more overrated teams, and coaches, in the country.

 

Though I do tend to cheer for them, if only for Keegan Herring.
