BC has no competition in the ACC!! AT ALL. And im a HUGE ACC fan. My team sucks in the ACC (NC State) lol. But cmon... I think its hilarious that we (NC State) gets Tom OBrien' date=' BC's old coach, and now BC is ranked so high. They are still playing with OBrien's players. I dont think theres a loyal following of BC up in the new england area. At least not from my standpoint.[/quote']

Virginia Tech and Clemson aren't good competition? Florida State and Miami are always tough too. If they come out of their next 5 games undefeated to end the regular season, they definitely deserve a look as a possible BCS bowl contender. One loss, however, and they'll get the South Florida treatment.

college athletics are at the bottom of the sports barrel here in boston

perhaps thats because all our pro teams look so good these days

perhaps its because the citizens of newton hate the catholic hordes who decend on them on fall saturdays.

they need another venue and that aint happenin in my lifetime.

i love bc sports but they play in a horrible stadium with little game day atmosphere unless you call drinking at joeys pub on market street till game time and taking a cab over to commonwealth ave is your type of tail gating.

they sell out pretty much every game

I lived in Newton since I was 3 right in between Comm. Ave and Beacon St. but I recently moved to Wellesley. I'm applying to BC early this year because I've loved that school and its athletics ever since I started watching their football games when I was 5. I just don't understand why no one goes to the games. I stay until the final second ticks off the clock ... when I went to the game against NC State this year, the fans (except for me and a few others, and the students of course) were leaving when there were still 7 minutes left in the 4th. WTF?? Come on people.

As far as the Catholic hordes decending on Newton on gameday...I can see why the people of Newton would hate it. Trust me, if there's one thing I've learned throughout my life in Newton, it's that the nickname "Jewton" definitely applies. Without a doubt.

quite frankly i get tired of explaining that the schedules are booked years in advance

its also difficult to justify umass army and bowling green for 3 straight home games but undefeated is undefeated and ive seen ohio states schedule and am not overly impressed

kent st indiana northwestern etc..

both teams will need to win to prove themselves and the hardest games are yet to come

for both teams

U! C! O! N! N! UCONN! UCONN! UCONN!

6-1 after a win over Louisville tonight!

I go to UConn. Couple quick points...

1. The defense is good. Young, quick, makes plays. I only wish Lansanah wasn't a senior.

2. If the weather isn't as bad as it was in CT tonight, Louisville probably wins the game, and probably wins by 10+ points.

3. Larry Taylor absolutely stole a TD on the punt return...he waved for a fair catch, Louisville froze, and Taylor ran almost untouched for a TD.

I remember in a Broncos way back around '96 or so something similar happened where a guy wasn't given a fair catch call, although he ended up getting clocked if I remember correctly, as opposed to scoring a TD. What I took from that is just sticking your hand up and down, which is what the UConn player did, is not a fair catch signal. :dunno:

Kind of a s***** situation but Louisville has to play to the whistle there.

Army screwed me with not kicking the FG. Idiots needed 2 scores anyway. Why go for it on 4th down in that situation? They screwed me out of $160...

Then Kentucky vs. Florida - They decide to just not kick the extra point and that cost me another $250.

I know I know gambling... but come the f*** on man. They decided to just not kick the PAT? Did the coach bet against his own team and new the spread?

LSU survives a huge scare from Auburn tonight.

Ballsy call to throw the ball on that game winning TD... but I think at home, the clock would've been stopped before it ran out had it been an incomplete pass. I absolutely love living in SEC Country where people actually get excited for their college football... it makes for a lot of fun.

in sec country, outside of banging your sister, football is the only other sexual outlet.

bc beat them 2 years in a row

bc beat clemson 2 years in a row

bc beat fla state 2 years in a row

bc beat maryland 2 years in a row

the only team theyve had a real problem with is miami who has beaten them religiously since 84..

this will be a fight but i think sean glennon is the worst qb in the acc and va tech has the most pedestrian offense in the top tier of that league

they play defense, they are very physical too.

if bc holds onto the football and dont give up the backbreaking plays on special teams they can handle these guys

I agree.

If BC doesn't make any mistakes in the first 20 minutes of the game or so they'll win going away....VT's offense is that bad.

26-23 BC after double overtime. (13-13 after time expires).

It really depends on how Ryan plays in the weather condition. It's pretty cool, my brother goes to BC and he knows Matt Ryan.

Constant heavy rain in Blacksburg. While you still have time, take the under.

EDIT: Not as heavy as they made it look in the intro, but it looks like it's still enough to have an impact.

Rain is the best possible thing for VT.

Actually, I bet you know none of them. Aren't you a freshman?

Who cares anyway? No offense, but the way you responded to what he said made you sound like a six-year-old.

"I know this dude."

"SO? I KNOW THESE GUYS!!!!"

Sorry, I do know Brandon Dillard pretty well though.

No still in middle school.

Their offense may suck, but you can always count on a good defensive team on VaTech's side of the ball.

I still think if the Eagles don't make any mistakes, they win. The rain makes those mistakes more likely, though.

Does it matter? The way Tech's D is playing, 3 might be enough.

Thursday nights at Lane are a bitch. Add weather and it becomes downright impossible.
